I do agree, but I've always seen Scourge as the B2. Sorry.

Well, damn...can I still get in on the Scourge love?
I just got mine this month after waiting for 13 years.
He stands with my other semi based TFs (Armada Prime, Energon Rodimus, AoE Galvatron and the soon to be gotten CW Motor Master).
I was not a fan of Rid?\/Car Robots...but loved the figures. Scourge is easily one of my top three favorite figures I own. Only beaten out by RiD Megatron.
His insanely armed trailer makes my soul happy.
Also, yeah...when RiD was out..the name Scourge was a bit of a turn-off for me. But I grew up with G1 Scourge and liked him. Even if he was a bit of a numbnuts.

Technically, that picture is of Car Robots' Black Convoy, not RID Scourge. But hey, who's counting? It's a four year old thread! :D

(Only bringing it up because I have Scourge but would rather have BC ;) )

Incorrect. Beast Machines is ranked 5th best, beating out RID01 by twice as much... it seems there’s just a vocal minority against Beast Machines (like yourself). This argument could be flipped and said AEC ruined TransFormers again due to it “leaving a sour taste in the mouths of all those who purchased Transformers toys”... it’s silly.

Only because as you said he was an exclusive that took forever to come out, with an unsatisfying Spychanger that came before hand. He was also a repaint of a great G2 Optimus Prime mold. If Scourge the character had his own mold and was released alongside Ultra Magnus and Optimus, you would have nothing to write about. Also, 1996 Blackarachnia was going for $115 on Ebay in 1999 and TransMetal BA was VERY sought after, as was Fox Kids TM Tarantulas. Beast Machines Rattrap was also very in demand due to his delays. Scourge was a major character... it’s like if Rhinox hadn’t been given a figure until the end of Beast Wars, was a store exclusive, imited to only a few units per store, and the only other Rhinox figure preceding him was the McDonald’s Rhino toy. There would have been an outcry!

This article is foolish... while there is no question that vehical TransFormers are popular, they weren’t in the ’90s. Machine Wars failed. Scourge did not singlehandedly save TransFormers, as the brand had already picked back up at the beginning of the line with the Autobots being released.

I couldn't wait for Scourge. I had to get Black Convoy.

There was literally a RID thread started, like, two days ago. You had to get the four year old one.

You're a fuckin' nerd, nerd. I call my Black Convoy Scourge and DON'T GIVE A SHIT. The police can't touch me.

Hey SpinalCord, you need a timephone? Not sure if holding a discussion with the Kickback in 2011 is really working here.

No it's not, it's my RID Scourge figure after getting some new stickers.

The old ones got holes thanks to the screw placement. So I got a set off of Reprolabels and use some of my Combaticon faction logos on them.

Wow, talk about a zombie thread.

Either way, Kickback, whether you agree with him or not, makes a great argument and some great points. I have always preferred Scourge to Nemesis Prime or Black Convoy. Truth be told, I like Scourge as the RID Decepticon more than the G1 underling of Galvatron who looks just like another Sweep.

I prefer the name Nemesis Prime to be for some sort of Fallen-like character as opposed to an evil Optimus clone.

Also, I think the revitalization of the Transformers brand is due to many different toys and series, including RID Scourge, Beast Wars, and many other toys, characters, and series.

Glad you're an RID fan... you could post this in the 'stickied' ALL THINGS RID thread at the top of this forum. It's for pics, discussions, etc. Enjoy.

    Q. What is a "Zombie Thread"?
A "Zombie thread" is any thread that has not had posts in some time, usually a year old or older, that has post that brings it back to the top of the forum. We usually frown upon the practice of bringing back old threads unless there is new information to be added.
