Megatron was going for the gun anyway, he would have still shot Optimus. With or without Hot Rod, the result would more than likely have been the same.

Not the first time Optimus died or came close to dying anyway. Happened like two other times in the cartoon before the movie.

I Remember watching t.v that twisted sister video came on my dad watched about 20 seconds of it got up walked across the room and turned the t.v off and walked out . We ran to turn it back on and by that time boy george was in full make up dancing around on the screen.

what was even nastier was the " mullet hair cuts " frizzie mullets , frosted mullets , short mullets , long mullets , curly mullets , rattail mullets , feathered mullets .
And everyone thought their mullet was the best looking mullet.

i dunno know why optimus didnt wear a shield across his glass windshield that covered his chest it's like come and shoot me through this " glass chest piece of have "
