I myself am not a fan of CHUG, yet I don't despise it either. I've been using Henkei/Classicverse for the longest time. Meh, it is what it is: a fan-coined term that'll probably stick...til the next line, at least.

Sometimes you win (seekers, G1) and sometimes you lose (kibble, CHUG)

    Now there's an acronym... FLOTT!

That's now what he's saying. He's qualifying the characters by continuity, but also by era. He refers to "The Transformers" as in the original series. Now, Drift is part of the G1 universe, but he's not from the original 80's G1 we all know, he's from a comic version of G1 made 20 years later. Therefore, he's a Transformers character, but he's not from "The Transformers." Straxus, confusingly, is.

If I were referring to when I bought the toy, for purposes of a toy review or something, I'd call it Generations Drift. But in my own collection, they're all Classics :)

Personally, I hate the term and will not be adopting it. Classics or Classicsverse works just fine. If I tell someone I can't wait for Classics release of whoever... I'm sure people will know what I'm referring to whether it's Generations, Universe, Henkei or Classics.

The term is dumb, and I just say Classics. Classics, Henkei, Universe and Generations are all the same with different names to appease retailers.

For my own collection, I just think of them all as classics. If I'm referring to any one particular figure, I'll use it's proper line. I don't have much reason to glob them all under one moniker.

CHUG is one of the least appealing acronyms I've seen from this fandom. In other words... it's lame.

I dont think classics fits as the names since it implies its a live for "Classic" or G1 characters specifically, generations works perfecly since you can throw any Generation of characters into the line!

I've also wondered what it mean't. Thanks, OP.
In my part of the word..... 'CHUG', means to down a drink in one long gulp.

The term was coined very recently, on this very site... I'm surprised, and just a little amused, that it's caught on so quickly. I don't mind it, since it serves a purpose. I would normally just go with "classic" because I feel that captures the spirit of the thing, though it can get confusing if someone assumes you're referring to a single line, rather than a general "style" of Transformer.

First time I've heard of CHUG, but at least I know what it is now, but I'd have to go with "Classics" unless I'm being specific, then I'll state their respective titles.

The only acronym(?) I've never figured out is JaAM. I know it has something to do with Armada Hot Shot, but I've no clue what it is. Anyone care to lend me an elaboration?

It's not an acronym. It is what it is, oddly enough. Basically, the little pack-in comic that came with the first wave of Armada toys, some guy edited the text and put it online. It makes frequent reference to a green liquid that Cyclonus is trying to steal, with this guy making Hot Shot refer to it as "jAm" in various stats of capitalization.

I dunno - this thread is the first I've ever heard of it and I'm all over the site. In fact this thread is probably the only way most people will become aware of it and spread and perhaps this was even the intention of it. Not that I'll ever use the term as I didn't feel a need for an all-encompassing term for Classics, Universe, Generations or whatever anyway. 'FillerLine' just being a joke and not really being what I used.

I was posting in the thread when somebody (I always forget who, dammit!) first coined the term. I laughed, and then figured it wouldn't catch on. Surprisingly, in the past month or so since then, I've seen it used a LOT in random threads, and this is even the second time someone's raised the question of what it means. I don't know if it'll stick, but the term is getting out there.
