I quite like it, if only because it saves me having to type out "Classics/Henkei/Universe/Generations" every time. If someone can think of anything better, I'd be all for it.

    You're not alone.

I was quite happy with either Classics, or Classicverse. People know exactly what that means. No explanation required.

true. The line is pure fan-wank. But I won't be adding it to my vocabulary any time soon.

I had to ask this in a thread last week. I guess it's a great way to save time; because we all know that everyone blogging about Transformer toys all day long is really busy.

The sooner the term goes away the better IMO. Not that it's hurting me or anything it's just a little stupid.

Before Universe came along, I just called 'em "Classics". Before Generations, I called 'em "Classiverse". I'm not sure if "Classiverserations" will hold up or collapse under its own alphabetic weight.

Who says anything is wrong with just Classics still. If I told someone "I sure can't wait for Classics Drift!" I'm sure they'd realize I was talking about Generations Drift

yeah, I'd be happy to stick with classics myself, but there's always some anal dipshit who'll take it upon himself to correct you.

I just call em Transformers.. instead of Animated or Beastwars or Bayformers..

since apart from a few rarities like Drift.. they are all characters from " The Transformers"

Kinda ******ed in my opinion... However, to each their own.

This is the first time I have seen the term, and while I will never use it and think it is stupid as hell, I at least won't be lost when people start throwing the term around more often, which I hope doesn't happen but we all know it will, haha! :p

I would prefer to see an "official", catch-all name used, but a part of me thinks it's a bit too late for it.

First off, I'm not a fan of acronyms to begin with. I'd also welcome "Generations" over the acronym, but I don't see it sticking as the umbrella term. A friend of mine referred to the whole shebang as "G3", but that doesn't seem fitting either because it seems to suggest that it's a generation later than G1-G2 simply by the nature of the term.

All of that aside, I have a really cool dynamic starting to form with my collection that harkens back to G1 before that term was coined - as a kid, I never thought of "G1" as "G1"; I simply thought of them as "The Transformers". This dynamic is similar, but not a 100% transfer simply because we now have multiple generations. What is occurring with me and my collection of these TFs is that I don't have to refer to them as a "term" all of the time. I can look at my shelf where I have all of them and just think of them as modern updates of old favorites. :)

This all being said, just because we might use "CHUG" to write, doesn't mean I'm going to use "CHUG" to talk. Seriously, say that out loud and listen to how dumb it sounds.

I'll just use CUG. Don't like the idea of incorporating the japanese name into the acronym.

What makes Drift any different than new characters in BW, Animated, or the movies? Its not like he comes from fan fiction.
