Ahead of time: If this is the wrong forum to post this in, apologies to the mods, move as needed, please wait 30 minutes after eating before going in the pool.
Anyway. For the past couple of months, I've been assembling people to work on a fan trailer of the Shattered Glass series - specifically, the BotCon comic. I've got it written using lines straight from said comic, I've got an artist on board (who has some wonderful work I am ever so happy

), and possibly someone to do some custom music for it as well. What I don't have...are voice actors to fill the roles. I've been putting off posting on here because I am a lazy person, but lo and behold! I am not and have assembled a sort of try out sheet.
Basically, what I need for anyone interested in helping are voice clips of them, well, trying out. If you already have a voice demo, PM it to me. If you have a mic, record yourself reading the lines (with the voice direction) and upload/email the files to me. If you get the part, same deal; record the lines, send them to me, I'll be pretty much organizing the music/voices/art into a final product. (Though if anyone has any suggestions on a vocoder, that would be wonderful.)
As for the try out sheet itself...
Quote:
CLIFFJUMPER: “No Decepticon death-camp can hold me! See you ‘round, loser-OOF!” Voice direction: 11 lines. He's your 'average joe thrust into a situation beyond his knowledge or control' protagonist. You don't need to do anything special, other than keep his G1 self in mind.
SIDESWIPE: “News flash, CJ: You are a long, long way from home.” Voice direction: Monologue + 2 lines. Keep the G1 self in mind, but don't let it restrict you.
STARSCREAM: “It appears you are from a universe that is fundamentally divergent in both time and space than our own." Voice direction: Monlogue + 1 line. Part of Sideswipe's monlogue has been reappropriated for Starscream. That said - rather than his screechy self that you all know and love? I'd like to find a more smooth/calm voice, his name being more ironic than anything else. He's a scientist at heart, so I'd like the VA to keep this in mind and try to get this through in their voice.
MEGATRON: "All life is sacred, even that of a stranger or an enemy. You represent the possibility that there is something BETTER out there!" Voice direction: 4 lines. Keep G1 Megatron in mind, but don't feel restricted by it. I'm honestly thinking more of a 'good' version of Animated Megatron (smooth, charismatic, not too horribly raspy), but you've got some freedom - try a few takes!
RUMBLE: "Blow it out your exhaust pipes!" Voice direction: 1 line. Keep the G1 self in mind, but don't let it restrict you.
RAZORCLAW: "He'd be a fool otherwise!" Voice direction: 1 line. Keep the G1 self in mind, though Razorclaw appears to be one of those 'wise-old-men-on-mountaintop-who-teaches-secret-of-kung-fu'.
SCRAPPER: “I just radioed Megatron. He says he wants him brought in alive.” Voice direction: 1 line. Keep the G1 self in mind, but don't let it restrict you, he's a medic, not a fighter! /Star Trek joke
OPTIMUS PRIME: 6 lines. “I gave you power beyond anything you ever had before and this is how you repay me!” Voice direction: The writers of Shattered Glass have already said that Optimus sounds like Venger from the D&D cartoon. As close to this as possible would be great. (I also need someone not afraid to do an evil laugh.)
RODIMUS: “Well, whad’ya know, Ol’ Ops said there was a strange energy build up down here! Didn’t think I’d find anything like YOU, though...ain’t you dead?” Voice direction: 3 lines. "Rodimus's speech and mannerisms are modeled after Vinnie Barbarino, the smart-mouthed teen-heartthrob from Welcome Back, Kotter, played by John Travolta." Nuff said?
GOLDBUG: "Rumble, you have been found guilty of crimes against the Autobot Imperium. How do you plead?" Voice direction: 4 lines. Keep the G1 self in mind, but don't let it restrict you.

I had some youtube clips to use as samples/examples, but I'd rather not clog up the thread. PM me if you want them.
Disclaimer: this is not a paid project. You will not get compensation, other than your name on the credits and hugs if I ever see you. Ideally, this trailer would be entered in the BotCon video contest of 2010. If it places, ok, awesome, I have no idea how show dollars work. If not, hopefully people will still like the hard work everyone's put into it.
Depending on how quickly this is done and how well it turns out, there may be another call for more characters - optimistically, I'd like to do a total of three trailers. This one here is the 'main'; the other two would focus on Autobots/Dungeons & Dinobots/Do-Over + Decepticons/Eye in the Sky/Blitzwing Bop respectively. Though that's a while ahead, seeing as Blitzwing Bop isn't even out.
If you have any questions, let me know and I'll do my best to answer them. I think I've covered all the main bases, though, aside from the fact I know a few people have expressed interest but only a few of those have given me actual samples to listen to. So for all intents and purposes, consider all positions open. As I assign parts, I'll make notes of such.
