I'm going to sticky this thread so we can use it as a general FAQ and discussion for the Shout! Factory G1 DVDs. We're getting a lot of folks curious about these and hopefully this will be helpful!

Any reason(s) to buy these considerring I already own the Rhino sets? I know they've been remastered and some animation errors were fixed but those weren't huge distractions to me anyway.

What advantage do the Shout sets have?

My understanding is that if the problems don't bother you then there is not a big enough difference to warrant the purchase...someone school me on this however if I am wrong.

I don't have the Rhino version so I am planning on getting every one of the Shout! releases.

The fixed animation errors, as well as the removal of the added-in-by-Rhino sound effects (why the hell did they add sound effects anyway???

), and a bunch of new bonus features were enough to get me to re-buy G1 in the SHOUT! Factory set lol.

So Heavy Metal War is fixed? I sold my Rhino sets years ago because of all the extra animation errors but I would buy this if those errors are corrected.
