Is Energon worth a second look?

For the past few years I'd usually say that Energon was probably the worst Transformers series, being the awkward mix of all traditional animation (Armada) and the full CG Transformer character models (Cybertron) that came right after, and I hate Ironhide's voice with a fiery passion. But today I decided to watch an episode from one of the DVD's on my shelf, I have no idea why, and the episode where Shockblast merges with Unicron and fights Optimus Supreme, and then Megatron merges with Unicron...it was actually kinda fun.

I've seen roughly 15-20 episodes of the whole series. Should I sit through the rest?

At 52 episodes, it's got about as much story wise as watching Revenge of the Fallen 10 times.

Yep. But at least Energon Devastator isn't a hunchback quadraped.

I know, I kinda like his look. I just realized that the animated models of Energon are 100% copies of the toys.

I've always said if you stop at 26 and start on Cybertron there the plot connections with Cybertron actually make as much if not more sense.

The only thing worth a second look from Energon are the Decepticon toys. They're the shiny jewels in that whole line.

To this day I haven't been able to watch the series all the way through.
