Slightly off-topic, I did like the Cybertron toys a lot, since they tried many different styles (albeit all based around the same Armada/Energon asthetic) with the different planet denizens. XBL GT: SPLITTLIP Quote:

Cybertron had a bloody sense of humour about itself, and that puts it several country miles ahead in my book. I've yet to see a convincing argument about what makes the dub bad that's not "They spoke when they didn't in the Japanese!" or "That guy has an accent!" Ddaagh. They replaced background music in the dub, which was especially bad in the final battle.
The dub's intro song was a disease. |

The show was actually entertaining.
Cybertron, though it didn't have the same quality script and gag writers as Robots in Disguise, was more amusing than Galaxy Force thanks to all the inserted jokes and dialogue. I'd rather watch ten minutes of stock footage per episode where the characters discuss current events than ten minutes of stock footage per episode where the characters say nothing save for catch-phrases and attack names, if anything at all.
But I disliked both shows, at any rate. Cybertron is just slightly more endurable than Galaxy Force. PelleCreepy

And in quite a few cases, it's not even *new* music that they replace it with - it's often from the Japanese soundtrack (in fact, I'm not 100% if there IS any new music composed for the dub, apart from the theme tune). For instance, the "especially bad" tune used in the final battle? That's "Courageous Theme," from the Japanese soundtrack. It's actually my favourite piece of music from the show, and I enjoy the scene a lot more with it than with the piece of the music used in Galaxy Force. It's much more action-driven. News Credits: 4 | In retrospect, I hated the Galaxy Force sub partly because it's barely in english (then what is the point of the sub?) and because Galaxy Force is so beloved by anime nerds who, like Takara, were desperate to separate it from Armada and Energon. Except TakaraTomy then went and retconned it back into continuity as Hasbro intended, thus meaning they fucked over Hasbro for absolutely no reason. http://www.tfwiki.net, the Transformers Wiki - Serious intellectual discussion about transforming space robots.

During the last launch sequence from the base "Better get a good look. Not going to see this again for a while."
or When Leobreaker and the rest were getting helped to Cybertron by the Key "What's going on..." "Ah this stuff happens to me all the time... Just go with it!"

While GF may have a tighter knit story, it also has other issues to it that just can't be removed via a new dub. So cybertron still has the same painful aspects to watch before getting into the dialogue pain too.
So yeah. I wouldn't call either 'great' but they were both good mindless entertainment of the Transformers variety. Ditto to Energon Superlink.
I.E.
The epic scene of Screamer obtaining the omega lock, what was literally the first story climax of the series, while epicly awesome in its own right is missing one major thing to it besides having blocky unliving movement.
Screamer never actually touches anyone with his weapons or hands, nor does anyone him. It's a reoccurring issue throughout the entire series of 'physical collision' issues. Energon/Superlink had similiar issues.
Both also completely and utterly dropped the ball on franklin. He went from potential amazing sub arc building, to just the stereotypical anime character who has a shared experience with these beings having saved him, so he's been searching to thank them. How trite is that? |

News Credits: 1 | Don't get me wrong, Cybertron had it's moments of genuine humour, but the terrible voices and CONSTANT TALKING made it generally unwatchable. GF was watchable and semi-enjoyable, though both kinda stink, at least I can appreciate Galaxy Force.
Cybertron did make fun of itself a lot. Too much though. The dub basically made itself a joke when the original series was not meant to be. Though you people act like GF was devoid of all humour. There were some actual funny jokes. (the more sutble ones, not the blatant "LAUGH AT ME" ones)
Still, it's way better than Superlink/Energon. Oh God, what the hell was that shit? XBL GT: SPLITTLIP Quote:

Cybertron had it's perks tho, and I liked the map/catalogs that joined together
