I took a picture of the tailgate from ironhide in the movie to a buddy of mine who has a machine shop. They used autocad i believe to make the drawing for the computer. then that info was sent to the shop so that each piece was cut by laser. I Bought a whole new tailgate so that when i do sell the truck i can keep the embossed tailgate. Then took it to the autobody shop where they flipped the tailgate handle and sealed the hole. They then set each piece exactly where it goes and used some sort of automotive grade weld kind of like a jb weld but better so they wouldnt have to use a real weld and warp the gate. then they bondo it up and shot the paint on. the emblem is roughly 12 inches tall.

My cost was about 500 for the machine shop, 1000 for the new tailgate including all necessary parts, and 1500 for the body work. So 3 grande total, i assume that it would cost around 1000 for the machine shop, the tailgate i got at a fleet price so i assume that is around 1200-1300 and the body shop around 2 grande
