A civil war style story. The rulers of the planet are Megatron and Galvatron, and each side is warring to overtake the other, with a ragtag band of Autobot freedom fighters caught in the middle.

Autobot team includes Optimus Prime, Jazz, Cliffjumper, Mirage, Hound, First Aid, Ironhide an Animated style Blurr and Moonracer

Megatron's faction includes Shockwave (may be renamed Shockblast again, because I have an affinity for that name), animated style Blitzwing, Thundercracker, animated style Skywarp, Constructicons, Swindle, Lugnut and Astrotrain

Galvatron's forces include Cyclonus, Starscream (betrayed Megatron assuming that Galvatron would gain an easy victory and grant him power, now seeks to overthrow Galvatron), Hook (not a Constructicon anymore but a Dr. Mengele styled surgical engineer), the Stunticons, Soundwave and his cassettes and Viewfinder (toy accurate design with self replicating powers as it was indicated he had in G1)

 

I'd like to see a series based loosely on the Marvel G1 stories, start off with Megatron in charge of the Decepticons, have Shockwave take over ect. Take out all the silly bits, have it fairly serious. Use new designs where needed.

 

A Toy Story 4 movie, that takes place at a TF Collectors house. Massive armies of loose figures coming to life every night to try and take over the room.

OK, I would like to ressurect this thread...

Cybertron is more crystal-and-togas looking planet where whole locations transform from time to time. It also moves through space because it is actually hiding from Unicron.

The society is divided along both cities and profesions. Autobots are sorta caratakers of Cybertron and to some extent take care of the very reproduction of Transformers.

Decepticons are effectively intelligence service and partially the army. They monitor the movement of Unicron and also development of other planets and, which is controversial, actually limit their technological advancement. In the start they are ruled by five directors - Shockwave, Soundwave, Skyfire, Starscream and Megatron. As per usual, Megatron gets on the top, while others envy his position and Skyfire becomes Autobot. Also the first three directors are from the same city (Tarn?) which is known for combining strict logic with brute force and produces robots with minimalistic faces.
The war starts off because Decepticons discover the Earth and they are scared of its technology. They plan to sacrifice the planet by installing the trap that will also destroy Unicron. Later both Autobots and Decepticons will have to fight some biotechnological race. Some themes about using of technology and science might be present.

 

The Decepticons ruled the world, and the Autobots became his servants. Finally, the Autobots resisted and won. Victory belongs to Autobots

 

I’d be interested in a Beast Wars style sequel series to G1, set perhaps 1,000 or so years in the future (“It is the year 3005”). The idea being a millennium has passed and another Great War is on the cusp.

Several characters from G1 Season 3/4, Beast Wars/Machines and the various Japanese series could appear: Rodimus, Arcee, Wheelie, Goldbug, etc. would all still be alive but not be the main characters—- Rodimus as the wizened old veteran serving in the Kup role is exciting.

Incorporating the plot lines of all G1/Beast/Japanese canon but bringing the whole era to a close as the finale of a trilogy. Obviously, Peter Cullen could return as G1 Optimus Prime speaking from the Matrix but the main thrust would be all new characters. A new Autobot Supreme Commander vs. a new Decepticon Emperor of Destruction.

EDIT: I’m aware the Japanese Beast Wars spin-offs split off much further into the future, this is just a fun thought experiment at the moment and in no way intended to be taken as an academic dissertation!

 

Here's how I would do the decepticons

The decepticons,

a new brand of radical authoritarianism couched in cybertronian exceptionalism and superiority.

Originating from the ascendicons faction
And the hatred and resentment and xenophobia against organics and non- transforming cybertronians, blaming that much for the plague and for the suffering of the common bot

The decepticons were more vile venomous vicious lot
"Preaching energon for all "true cybertronians!"

Emphasis on true, If you're a tcog(transformation cog, the organ of transformation) Did not function, You were not considered Cybertronian
You were disabled.

If you were considered bio mechanical(or techno organic) and not fully mechanical, you were not a cybertronian.

If you do not worship Primus as your lord and Savior, you were considered a heretic.

If one were to pay attention to the rhetoric of the decepticons, One would quickly figure out, that while they claimed to be for those even suffering as gladiators, there are nothing more than fans of wrestling and gladiators were the modern wrestling.

A form of exceptionalism, mech based chauvinism.Domination and strength above all else. Till one is left, Not all are one.

Hierarchy and symbolism was heavily important to the decepticon mythology.
To be subservient to another bot was a mockery but there were few that were worthy to be a servant of the cause.

You should only serve those who bested you

On the topic of symbolism
, They decided to adopted the symbolism of the old decepticons of legend

using the aesthetics of the far more ancient "enemies of the council." (Essentially edgy shit lords who think they're cool and alternative but aren't really doing shit for the common folk)

This would technically be the third movement of decepticons in Cybertronian history but again, it's so far gone that the old terms were just not used.

Later on as the political climate turned more heated, There was paramilitary action. Strength put into action. At the cost of lives. There was vicious beatings in the streets. Mechs torn asunder..


Decepticons used violent fear tactics, beatings and outright voter suppression to their advantage.

Perhaps the most infamous mech of the decepticons, was "lord Megatron."

The radical firebrand, whose orator repertoire was wanting matched by his dominating presents

Many would be shocked to discover, He was once and almost a relatively unknown in politics, only a few centuries ago, His armor, and frame was not even the same as the one he was born as. Not rare per se but not common. He was not a natural born military grade hardware. He was created, His new strength artificially forged.


At first, Megatronus was just a normal week. A Pathetic mech and a gladiator fan, but mostly spent his day today as a janitor.





During a war of conquest, for energon the very same war that would lead to the great plague spreading to Cybertron





He was a private who stayed behind most of the war and maybe sent messages too important to be sent via comlink.,



It was after the war, during which the plague spread his true passion for public speaking, He was used by the council to keep in check on one of the radical reactionary movements, they liked him too much…





The constructicons were radicals of a more fascistic form: The dissatisfied proletariat who were so warped by propaganda of imperialist ideas of conquest and of the old ways, that they rejected any items by the collectivist Autobots. Instead going for a quasi faux individuality above all else approach.



They were the people that Megatron was sent to look over, and they in turn helped forge him, They were losers and suckers. Pathetic, who's best accomplishment was being able to forge military hardware, and reforge cybertronians into those bodies.





Megatronus sympathized with their cause, They felt like they lost their jobs and their livelihood when the war ended. They blamed the organics on their own suffering. It was because of the organics that the plague spread to Cybertron and ended its glorious crusade for energon. Megatron helped in the stoking of their vicious hatred against the collectivist ideas, Who needed it. No. pick up your own damn bootstraps.



And because of seeing one another as a common ally, with Megatron as their leader, they helped remodel Megatronus into their newest, military model leader..



gunmetal body, almost impenetrable. With a cannon able to destroy any armor. Claws that could That could rip apart, even the most fierces of gladiators, He had the strength to destroy and twist girders with ease. He was Megatron! leader of the the decepticon!!

A group that was "deceived by the council," Who feel that the entire civilization was deceived by the organics, by the untransformables.

Megatron would be there leader in stopping the vicious horde of agitators, "who sought to end society through revolution." Destroy the very foundation that so many lives were built upon Make something new by preserving the older



(With that foundation of enslavement of genocide of destruction.)



they helped remodeled him into a military model. So that he would truly be able to fight for their cause in a sense. Megatron was the first true decepticon, the constructicons were the brutal iron forgers needed to constantly hype each other up into being true conquers of the political sphere.

Okay, I just wanted to share a few decepticon stuff and then I'll go on optimus and the Autobots

decepticons were far more vicious at first.

They are coalition also includedt he Air Force/ Calvary/ aristocrats/ seekers, in a society where personal flight was reserved for the wealthy The aviation force and the aristocrats were almost the same,

Whoever ruled the skies ruled Cybertron,

Headed under Starscream, later, dubbed "the leader of the decepticon Armada."

A fanatical scientist and xenophobe against organics, Screamer was a leading scientist in aviation.
He was a fanatical to the decepticon cause.

Autobots would be more in line with G1 being workers and stuff like that but I'll get into that later.

 

Transformers: Wreckers - A show about a rotating cast of Autobots going on suicide missions.

 

Transformers: Ascension - An adult animated series that pays tribute to the franchise, note that just because its adult animated does mean it has to have all the gross out humor, the language, none of that.

Essentially I want to make a Harley Quinn show-esque series. I call it Ascension because I want to tell a story about Starscream and his own squad of Decepticon deserters.

The story goes that at this point the war has dragged on for a long time, I mean a looonnnnngggg time to the point a recurring joke in the show would be that only Optimus & Megatron are keeping it going as everyone else seems to do their own thing with storylines that would see Autobots and Decepticons working together. The stories central character would be Starscream who has grown tired of trying to overthrow Megatron and become Decepticon leader so goes off to do his own thing by becoming his own factions leader. It's just that the only Cybertronians who would join him are the bottom of the barrel grunts no one cares about. Essentially acting as a deconstruction of what makes the characters who they are while still telling a familiar narrative with the Ascenticons being at the center of it all.

Cast - The cast would be a rotating roster of familiar characters all of which would take a more modernized approach to their classics appearances, kind of like what Cyberverse did. But here are a few key characters.

Autobots:
Optimus Prime - The Autobot leader, this series would really play up his whole Dad-vibe by being that cringe father who tries to be in touch with the youth. At the same time still being that inspiring leader but this time make his speeches a recurring gag with him that everyone has become tired of. Eventually I'd want to have him "depart" the show by eventually just letting Megatron take the win on the war when he realizes only he and Megatron still care about it thus he'd retire... give Bumblebee, Hot Rod, & hell even Hot Shot a storyline about competing to become the next leader.

Grimlock - Leader of the Dinobots (in the show consisting of Swoop, Slug, Snarl, Sludge, Skar, & Slash). Short-tempered and violent his whole storyline is about making an entire island off the coast of California its own nation for the Dinobots to live on. He'd make it its own nation that Optimus HAS to recognize so that the Autobots can leave the Dinobots alone and quit making them fight all their battles for them; they'll fight when they want to.

Punch - Autobot Spy. He has become fed up with Optimus & Magnus sending him on missions especially when it becomes clear the Decepticons are doing NOTHING. Eventually he forms a bond with Megatron whom he reveals his dual personality to and the two bond over having a second personality talking to them in their heads.

Nightbeat - A crime and problem solver. He sees everything quite literally in black & white, he hears everyone talking like a noir thriller and he talks like he's in a noir thriller.

Decepticons:
Megatron - The Decepticon leader, he has become a grizzled old man who longs for the days when he was a gladiator and has essentially lost all respect from his Decepticons. He keeps up the war if only out of childish spite. Despite mellowing out he has developed an alter ego he calls Galvatron that acts out his more aggressive tendencies and is happy to dish it out on Autobot or Decepticon.

Tarn - Megatron's No. 1 fanboy who idolizes him and obsess over him. He becomes the series big bad that will be defeated in the series finale. He becomes the villain when he finally meets Megatron and sees he is not the Decepticon leader that Tarn envisioned and he goes on to form a small sect of Decepticon fanatics who long for the early days of the war and attempt to kill Megatron.

The Seekers - Starscream's former group of fliers now led by Slipstream. She hates Starscream and happily rubs it in his face whenever she has a chance that she is now leader. The group now consists of Skyquake, Dreadwing, Ramjet, Dirge, & Thrust.

Others:
Starscream - The leader of his own group the Ascenticons, he is out to prove he is better then the old man Megatron usually getting wrapped in crazy plots such as solving a murder with Nightbeat, mooching off Thundercracker, or helping Megatron defeat Tarn.

The Ascenticons consisting of
Skywarp, a hapless idiot who will follow Starscream anywhere despite his annoyance
Runabout & Runamuck, twin idiot terrorists who only joined so they could sit around and do nothing
Steve, a Vehicon who gained a conscious
Clobber, she later leaves the Ascenticons to join the Wreckers

Thundercracker - A former Decepticon who now has retired to start an Energon farm, but sadly he constantly gets roped into Starscream's idiotic schemes or has to fend off from the pesky Insecticons who come to eat his crops.

Rung - The Cybertronian Therapist, he use to be an Autobot but left to avoid fighting. Now he happily takes on any client such as Red Alert to help his paranoia, Optimus & Elita for couple's therapy, Soundwave to help him become more independent, or Blitzwing to help him with his anger management.

A G1 series that fills in the years from 1986-2004.

 

back in the 90s I came up with the idea for a G1 series taking place on Cybertron while the rest unfolds on earth. Filling in the blanks like how the season 2 characters got there etc.
