Questions on "Best of UK: Dinobots" TP & "Best of UK: Space Pirates" issues

Dinbots:

1) How did Morris know whre the Ark was to send Swoop to attack?

2) Between which U.S. G1 issues do each of these stories take place? I think the first two stories (Icarus Theory & Dinobot Hunt) take place between the U.S. issues 12 and 13.

Space Pirates:

1) What's the story about the canister? Is it any more similar or different to the G1 season 3 one?

2) Why did TFTM take place in 2006 in this continuity? And why was "of leadership" not added to the end of the name of the creation matrix, as the movie said? The moive also had the characters acting like their different cartoon counterparts (Dinobots talking primitive), so maybe some things have to be let go of.

3) What is the Quintesson origin in this continuity?

4) How are movie Spike and Daniel explained existing in this continuity when the movie Spike isn't much at all like the one later introduced during the intro of the Headmasters who had blond hair instead of brown? Hair-dye job?

5) When the Autobot City Autobots are first shown strung up on the city walls, deactivated, the one on the top right looks very much like Brawn. A mistake? Also Wheeljack is shown, but he could have been repaired in this continuity. And were these Autobots able to be reactivated later, after this story?

Thanks.

sorry if its not accurate, im just going off memory:

1) How did Morris know whre the Ark was to send Swoop to attack?
-prolly based on swoops own knowledge/memory databank or summat.

2) Between which U.S. G1 issues do each of these stories take place? I think the first two stories (Icarus Theory & Dinobot Hunt) take place between the U.S. issues 12 and 13.
-after ish 8(?) when megs disposed of em and is 27(?) when they return to autobots fold in that ish with trypty.

Space Pirates:

1) What's the story about the canister? Is it any more similar or different to the G1 season 3 one?
-im hitting a blank here. i was gonna say its from big broadcast of 2005, but thats out of the comic conti, yes its from the cartoon, but the UK comics cleverly tied it as a red herring story planted by wreck gar.

2) Why did TFTM take place in 2006 in this continuity? And why was "of leadership" not added to the end of the name of the creation matrix, as the movie said? The moive also had the characters acting like their different cartoon counterparts (Dinobots talking primitive), so maybe some things have to be let go of.
-because they, the filmmakers changed that detail by the time the movie was released. when they 1st provided details to the UK comics, TFTM was supoosed to be based in 2006, instead of 05.

3) What is the Quintesson origin in this continuity?
-dunno, i dont recall them explaining it.

4) How are movie Spike and Daniel explained existing in this continuity when the movie Spike isn't much at all like the one later introduced during the intro of the Headmasters who had blond hair instead of brown? Hair-dye job?
- they didnt bother explaining it. its a bit of a clusterfuck. just keep in mind that once furman took over the US issue they even had more grey area in terms of conti.

5) When the Autobot City Autobots are first shown strung up on the city walls, deactivated, the one on the top right looks very much like Brawn. A mistake? Also Wheeljack is shown, but he could have been repaired in this continuity. And were these Autobots able to be reactivated later, after this story?
-wheejack reappeared in earthforce storyline along with prowl and others. i think its because the UK reissued them in gold classic packaging. dont remember brawl tho.

"The Icarus Theory" and "Dinobot Hunt" do indeed take place between issues #12 and 13. "Space Pirates" comes between issues #44 and 45.

You find out at the end of the story. Wouldn't want to spoil it.

2006 was part of the early draft for the film, which got changed to 2005 for the final thing (2006 would probably have been more fitting, since that was exactly 20 years ahead of the release year of the film, but there you go). When writing the first movie-future time-travel story, "Target 2006," Simon Furman didn't actually get to SEE the film, he just had notes to go on, and the notes said 2006, so the UK consistently used that even after the film came out. Likewise, I'd assume the lack of a name change for the Matrix was to remain consistent with what the comics had already done.

They're just a bunch of freaky aliens, nothing more to it than that. The "Transformers Universe" profile for the Quintessons claimed they were servants of Unicron (apparently another idea that got nixed somewhere along the way), but the comic didn't follow through on that.

Through the magic of just ignoring things and doing what the film did. Really, that's about it. Spike just pops up in "Time Wars" with brown hair, and Daniel's with him. He's as much of a cynical douche as he was in the US comics, but that's about it.

I'd have to go and did out the book to check them all, but Blaster reappeared in "Time Wars," and he was strung up, so at least some of 'em were okay.

Because of the space time/rift created by Galvatron being in the past woithout displacing anyone, the Quintessons predicted that their planet would be consumed at some point in the near future.

They then sent Sharkticons all over the galaxy to assess potential colonisation/conquest worlds. All the information in this survey was stored in the canister, which is why when Wreck Gar eventually broadcasts all of it to everyone, all the metal based planets/civilazations who were on the chopping block were warned and suddently the Quintessons were very very unpopular.
Time for a change...
