For picture quality, I'd say the Rhino set is great (and I'm not talking about any animation errors and all that crap). I mean the clean, crisp, picture and color (which are bright and full) are some of the best I've seen with any of the G1 series releases.

I was looking at that. What I'm wondering is I know it says all region but it also says PAL will that work on all DVD players? I was also looking at how they have Headmasters, Masterforce, and Victory is coming soon.

You would need a DVD player with a PAL converter. A player that is simply region free will not decode the video.

I've never had a problem with the Rhino DVD's. Yeah, they had some whacked out sound enhancements here & there and sometimes the animation cells were reversed or incorrectly colored, but nothing that absolutely killed entire episodes. Plus it was an 80's hand drawn cartoon - there's only so much you can do with that.

I think we're damn lucky to have even gotten ALL the episodes to begin with, considering how many other shows have some missing when they eventually make it to DVD years afterwards, or worse yet, when the studios pull the plug after only releasing 1 or 2 seasons and leaving the rest in limbo (ie: GI Joe, Gargoyles, etc).

Not only do we need G1 on DVD fast but G.I. Joe is a MUST!

Come on Hasbro, with the new G.I. Joe movie and a second TFs movie it's a no brainer.

Godspeed

I'm more than happy with the Chinese tin as well. Much better than the Rhino releases IMO. If they officially release G1 again and it's better, I'll buy it for sure.

I have the Rhino set and love it, but those loud sound effects during the commercials reels are annoying. Especially in the middle of the night.
