I like to think, that after Galvatron punished him, he self-exiled himself, got upgraded to Classics 2.0 body and undertook intensive training so that he could prove himself to the other Decepticons, whilst still plotting some kind of revenge against Starscream and Galvatron. So now he's still a bully, but a tough and detached bully.
Anyhoo, just thought I'd make an Octane appreciation thread, what with his new toy and all... |

May he be around for a long time to come. Samuel L. Prime says, " Freedom is the right of all sentient beings, Mother@#$%ker ! "
Rodimus L. Jackson says, " 'Till all are One, Mother@#$%ker ! "
Samuel L. Picard says, " To boldly go where no mother@#$%ker has gone before. " |

Considering the ending of FFoD part 5, it would've made more sense too, but Hasbro suddenly wanted them to do episode/s to promote the Octane toy. This is why I don't really appreciate Octane the same way I used to (because his portrayal in the cartoon was clashing with his character bio, too).
Interestingly, Octane returns to the decepticon lines in Headmasters, but Blitzwing doesn't...
But yeah, the original toy was awful. Can't wait for the Classics version. |

This mayor may not factor into me possibly or possibly not getting Tankor. XBL GT: SPLITTLIP Quote:

As for G1 Octane, to me he is the best triple changer next to Blitzwing. He would have been the best triple changer if it wasn't for all the parts changing (actually, there were just two parts, but still).
I loved the character, because he and Blitzwing (and Swindle) weren't your regular "evil" Decepticons, but an honourable warrior and a merchant/thief for hire.
Classics Octane has articulation, a nice plane mode (a got over the small main wings, but I still think they could have used 1 engine of appropriate size on each wing, instead of two small, almost non-existent ones) and a cool truck mode, but falls short in robot mode. I can stomach the stilt legs, but I can't get over those stupid shoulder pads. This is the impression I have so far, from looking at the available pics. Maybe I'll like him more when I see some review videos on youtube, and see how he looks in 3D.
Big thanks goes to Nemesis Predaking for this awesome sig!!

Octane was always CLOSE to being good, but the arms and the parts coming off ruined it. That's why I'm so psyched for the classics version. Astrotrain was a step down, 'Tankor' will be a triumph!
