Why doesn't anyone think the Japanese BW's are any good??

I just watched this movie on youtube(the only Jap. BW's I could find with subs.) and IT was pretty good if you ask me, the plot was a little predictable for the most part, EXCEPT WHEN FREAKING OPTIMUS PRIMAL FROM THE ORIGINAL BW SHOWED UP!. Overall I thought it was pretty cool. So I ask why does everyone hate it so much??

I didn't know folks didn't like those shows...

I've never really heard any hate for them.

It can be theorized that the constant knife-edge pressure has gradually gotten to Punch, and that part of him has been lost, possibly irredeemably.

I posted a thread earlier asking if anyone knew where I could find subtitled Episodes of BW II or BW Neo and everyone said they were bad and not worth watching, and no one knew where to find 'em online so I scoured Youtube and found this one. Is anyone here a huge fan of these, does anyone love them?! I still can't find NEo with subs. if anyone knows where tell me.

They're pretty kiddy and slapstick, especially Beast Wars Second which is on a similar level to RiD. I've never seen enough of them to form a proper judgement, but reading plot summaries and other snippets - Galvatron gets drunk and goes on a rampage? Tasmanian Kid pees on a fire to put it out?

That's really all I need to know to know I'm not missing anything ground breaking, even though it sounds like it does have its moments.

The Beast Wars Japanese dub is pretty bad, though. An all-ages show like Beast Wars got dubbed as a complete kid's show for Japan, characters got genders switched (Airrazor), I hear Depth Charge sang a Japanese fishing song whenever he transformed. A fishing song!

i liked bwII and neo eventhough i dont know japanese. i understood what was going on as its a very juvenile show but that made it easyier to understand also the episodes names make it pretty clear whats going to happen in the episode. its def not for everyone tho.

At least he did something; when Megatron got drunk in the G1 cartoon all he did was fall over.

the jap beast wars show make perfect sense and when you watch Beast wars series , beast wars 2 and the neo it makes sense how events happened in Beast Machines. in Beast Machines nightscream says that cybertron was recovering after a serious event that damaged the planet, im pretty sure he is refering to the return of Unicron in Beast Wars Neo were he is finally destroyed 100% after he takes over Galvatrons body. The events in beast wars 2 and neo make sense and there ment to be all connected and its just a shame hasbro didnt bring them over here as everyone loves Big Convoy!

Its too bad both those series never got an official dub and release in the states. Hasbro dropped the ball not importing the series and toys here, esp considering how popular BW era was.

Most of the Japanese BW series actually used rehashed G2 and BW toys that were never released in Japan, VERY few of the toys were original molds and of those, many did eventually get released here (Big Convoy, for instance).
