His wife commented to my wife a while back that "apparently I have some maturing to do". This of course came from the mother of the two biggest keener/dork/loosers to ever come out of Canada. I Politely informed her that she'll keep her pie-hole shut if she ever hopes to come visit their granddaughter again... then I asked her if her son was stilll single and white as a ghost from playing World of Warcraft for 16 hours a day in the basement.
She's been much nicer since then....

And, even after that, she continued to watch RID & the A/E/C trilogy with my little sister. She loved the live action movie and is looking forward to the sequel (she actually likes Bay as a director and thinks Pearl Harbor was awesome and coming from someone who prefers to read a book rather than watch a movie). She's seen all of Animated so far and thinks it's the best series since BW. Her favorite character in the Transformers franchise is G1 Grimlock and her love of him was instilled in her during the original movie 'Me Grimlock kick butt!' is apparently the most awesome thing he's ever said... and I have to hide my Grimlock shirts when she comes over.
My stepfather is oblivious to anything and everything. The man's got this deadzone where his brain should be... to many drugs in the 70's I guess. But he did think that the 07 movie was 'groovy'. Just don't ask him to name the character because he'll say stuff like Jazzman, Bumbler and so on...
My father hates it and thinks I'm immature for collecting them. Last time he came down from NY he decided to lecture me on how I spend my money. This from a man who's currently under investigation for imbezeling from his law firm. Of course, I don't see this guy often as we have a hate/hate relationship.
My stepmother has the same views as my father except she never says anything to my face about it and talks to my wife behind my back -which is funny because she's my age-. Last time she said something to Jess she responded 'There's worse things he could spend his money on... you know, like how there are better things you could spend your money on than crack'. Boy did that get ugly. My Junkion Exchange Feedback Thread |

Join Date: Aug 2006 Posts: 717 Location: Da Garden State Collection Count: I have a shed... | My mother knows the easy to remember guys (Optimus, Bumblebee, Tapedeck Guy, The Gun, Starscream), the commercial version of the theme song, and ALWAYS tells the story about how she searched everywhere for Soundwave for my older brother's birthday, but when she found it she was annoyed that for what it cost it wasn't a REAL cassette player. So my aunt bought it for him instead.
My father has little to NO knowledge about Transformers, choosing instead to call them all "Voltrons". |
