Does anyone know the day Peter Cullen was born? I know the year is 1944, but i want to know the month and date, which I can't seem to find anywhere on the Internet. That is all.

Yeah, I was sure his birth year was way before 1956 also. It appears that the botched information may have come from IMDB, which says he was born in 1956. Askmen also quotes the same figure. I'd be very surprised to see a 28 year old (his age in 1984) pull off Optimus Prime's voice. It's way too basso. I definitely read something like 1940, a few months ago. I think that the 1956 figure may have been propagated from a single source to the point that now that's all you can find. Look on the edit history for the main page. Someone even said "I concede that a 1956 birth date doesn't make much sense, but the sources do point to 1956, not 1940" and reverted a change back to 1956. I mean, we KNOW that 1956 doesn't make sense, there is a chance that 1940 is true, so why go from stating something unverifiable to stating something definitely incorrect? That edit was actually by me. The thing is that Wikipedia is all about verifiable information. Yes, 1940 seems like a better date, but it's not verifiable. All apparent evidence points to 1956, so until something can be found that says otherwise and can be cited in the article, it's got to stay 1956. That's why I was asking if anyone had any proof for a 1940 birthdate, since I can't find any. I mean, the man did the voice of Optimus Prime. It does seem suprising to me how a man could choose to be so reculsive of his personal information that here we are, sitting on one of the biggest encylopedias with the most participants in the world, and we can't even figure out his birth date...oh well. He did the voice of optimus prime 40 or so years ago. With a 1956 birthdate, that would mean he was, like, 12 when he did it. I hardly believe that. Y'know, I would rather put in a birthdate that we cannot truly verify but is close to the date we have verified, AND on top of that it makes a whole lot more sense. I mean, leaving it at 1956 will confuse the heck out of anyone who reads it and knows that he did the voice of Optimus so long ago. At least then we could make a bit of sense if we called it 1940 (which isn't drastically far from 1956) because at least then he would be about 30 more or less when he first did the voicings. I mean, we could even say "estimated 1940" if we so desire...it still makes a whole lot more sense than saying its 1956...

It does make sense. I'll put in c. 1940 as the birth date and a footnote about it. It's actually reasonable to assume that all the sources giving 1956 got it from a flawed original source. I just wish we had a solid reference for this. --clpo13(talk) 05:38, 13 August 2007 (UTC)

Given no source for a reasonable birthday, the article should contain no birthday. I've removed the speculation, and added some text about 1956 being wrong despite being verifiable. --Steven Fisher 06:34, 30 August 2007 (UTC)

So it sounds like December 1, 1944 is the best guess, but has no solid confirmation.
