who would win? things to consider:

    - while unicron is larger, galactus has plenty resources available to him.
    - herald power levels; some may consider silver surfer more powerful than galactus.

    ...that all i got.

As much as I'd like to say Unicron, in a fight between planet eaters, the one whose alt mode is a planet is the loser.

I see Galactus and Unicron in a stand-off...

    G: "Go ahead, transform..."
    U: "Uh uh, no way."

Plus, Hot Rodimus Prime killed Unicron. Unicron is a pussy.

    No, the matrix killed unicron.

if we're talking G1 unicron versus galactus-
the matrix is the ONLY thing that can defeat unicron (and even THAT did not kill him, as seen in season three). galactus does not have the matrix. galactus cannot use the matrix. Galactus would never be able to defeat unicron. of course, unicron doesnt have much in the way of offensive power. why would he need to? he's a planet eater. he's not made for actual combat or all-out war. he would have a hard time even damaging galactus. it'd be a stalemate.

if we're talking armada/energon unicron, then galactus could win pretty easily. that unicron is slow, barely fights back at all, and is pretty much a gigantic pushover. galactus could stand on his surface (or back) and just drain all his energy away at his leisure while unicron stands around going "grrr" and "arrgh", because that's just what he does.

and of course, a galactus who has taken unicron's energy would be a pretty good thing for the universe. he wouldnt have to go after any planets again for a very long time. a unicron that has taken galactus' energy would be terrible. no telling what that power would do to him, and he wouldnt stop feeding, since he has no hunger. he feeds to destroy. it'd speed him up, if anything.

Galvatron had the Matrix and couldn't do it. Roddy pulled the trigger that capped Unicron's ass.

Galactus lost to a bunch of zombies, in one continuity. Whereas Unicron can die and keep regenerating. And if we count G1 Marvel here, then I have to say there's no way a lump of zombie food is beating a saturn sized world killer.

    Galactus.

He sucks the raw life out of planets, regardless of size, etc... Unicron has to physically munch them. I think that actually suggests Galactus has an edge there.

I think that Unicron (and Primus for that matter) are lesser space gods. Galactus seems like more of a pan-cultural cosmic threat/phenomenon.

Unicron isn't the size of Saturn. Cybertron was Saturn-sized in the Marvel G1 comics, but in the G1 cartoon, Cybertron wasn't much bigger than the Moon... and Unicron in the movie was substantially smaller than Cybertron

Unicron and the Matrix create champions like Galvatron and Rodimus. Galactus makes heralds like the Surfer and Firelord. I think Marvel cosmics trump the TF leaders in terms of raw power, and certainly versatility.

However the mitigating factor is how distressingly frequently Galactus gets his ass handed to him in recent years. It seems like every time Marvel wants to introduce a new cosmic villain these days, they have to show him off by having him beat up Galactus. meh.

    :)

According to his bio, Galactus was the sole survivor of the planet Taa; it was destroyed along with the rest of the universe before the current Marvel 616 Universe.
According to Unicron's Marvel G1 bio, Unicron destroyed the universe before this one.
    However.
Unicron, trapped in a physical body, is severely powered down; remove that body and Galactus doesn't stand a chance. As it is, however, I think Galactus would beat him.

That, of course, did not actually make SENSE, because Galactus isn't made of flesh - human beings just seem him that way. If a Transformer looked at Galactus, they'd see a giant Transformer in a funky purple hat. He's that cosmic.

Eh, who cares who'd win, in my fanfic featuring Transformers in a Marvel Universe Unicron goes to town on him and kicks his a$$. Why? Factoring in the fact that Unicron exists as a single entity in multiple realities or I should say throughout multiple realities... Even if Galactus destroyed the body in one Universe Unicron could simply migrate to another body and come back stronger then ever.

Also, since Unicron MUST exist in order to counterbalance Primus and maintain a shaky stabiliity between the forces of Chaos and Order, no matter what happens in the initial conflict Unicron will destroy Galactus... Besides if they both occupy the same Universe eventuall one of them has to go and I'd prefer it to be Galactus because Unicron has more potential story wise/threat wise then some big guy in a purple costume that feeds on planets for the sake of staying alive and sating his hunger whereas Unicron destroys for the sake of wiping out all of creation.
Plus how many planet eaters does one reality need anyway?

And if we're throwing in all the Giant Planet destroyers out there, what about Hungortis? :lolol
