Just so you you foks know, I'm finally working on the replacement for my defunct site, a comprehensive rundown on the Alternators/Binaltech/Asterisk/Kiss Players line from various perspectives, an extensive explanation of the development process of the line, a chronological list of all important news, a guide to the toys themselves, a summary of the backstory etc. However, I need some help for this. For example, I'm looking for information about an old post made here at TFW2005 back in May 2004, according to my notes. Unfortunately, there appears to be no existing archive of such old TFW threads, and the Wayback Machine isn't much of a help either. The post I'm referring to depicted scans from a retailer catalog by Hasbro China. Depicted was, among other things, a stock photo of a Ford Mustang (or rather, a concept of the car), thus being one of our first hints at an Alternators Mustang (this was before Takara announced Grimlock). I managed to track down the original stock photo just so you know what I'm talking about: http://www.allsportauto.com/wallpapers.php3?zl_id=7321&zl_idMD=845 So, if any Chinese fan here remembers posting a Chinese catalog featuring this photo, or if anyne still has the catalog scan saved on his hard drive, I'd greatly appreciate the following information: 1) Posting date of the scans here at TFW 2) Name of the poster.
I will be of no help. However, I'd like to say that I'm thrilled to hear Binalternators.de will be back in some form. Your site kicked ass.
The site won't be coming back under its old URL or in its old form, but I'm taking the advantage of having the line essentially wrapped up and being able to review all news and information in retrospect to come up with a more useful structure. I have more questions: Does anyone remember an online retailer (possibly Bill's Toys and Games, maybe also BBTS or JRS Toyworld) a) openly confirming that Alternators Swerve was marked as "discontinued" by Hasbro, or b) none of the official advertising for the re-release of Alternators Tracks as per Hasbro made any mention of a sticker (this referring to an older rumor posted at Transfandom)? Both of this would have occurred somewhere between May and October 2005.
I have little to contribute other than to say your old site was awesome for all Alt/BT info and it's good to see you back on the boards again, Nevermore! I hadn't seen you post in a long time.
Thanks for the offer, I will come back to it should my current offer back out. Oh, BTW, Binal Convoy concluded from the URL of the catalog scan (I still had the link to the image itself) that it was uploaded on May 24, 2004, which gives me a smaller timeframe to search.
And with the date, I was able to find this: http://web.archive.org/web/20050321003412/http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/thread46804.html
Thinking about it: This could have also been about the official advertising for the re-release of Alternators Meister not making any mention of a new (racing) deco.
