Optimus, Ironhide, Prowl. Bumblebee always seemed like such a dork, and Hot Rod was useless, even in his matrix thief mode.
I wouldent count Bumblebee in as the big 3 autobots. Optimus is given as he is the leader Ironhide is also given as he is an old time warrior and is one of the thougher autobots. the hard part is to decide who is the third one. Would it be another autobot car ? Would it be the dino leader Grimlock ? Perceptor with his wisdom ? I dont undrstand how anyone can count in BB in the big 3 autobots. not the old G1 cartoon BB anyway. I would say the number 3 would be for me anyway Perceptor. Perceptor is a uniq character with both great fighting skills as he show off i several episodes. He also has a good human contact with his inventions. But I must say..Megatron, Starscream and Soundwave in all honor but Shockwave should be on the list to.
No way. After the movie, Springer was the only guy the Autobots had with anything resembling leadership skills. And, Kup always seemed a little senile, to me.
Aside from Optimus, Takara often brings out Bumblebee, and Jazz for G1-related offerings, don't they? (PVC, Myclones, Bottle Cap figures, etc) Then maybe Hot Rod, Ultra Magnus, and Grimlock.
I'd say Optimus, Hot Rod/Rodimus, and Bumblebee. Optimus was the leader, Hot Rod/Rodimus was the better leader (and founder of the hotheaded kid with potential character, an archetype that would later spawn Cheetor and Hot Shot), and Bumblebee was the friendly character that everybody loved.
For G1 I would have to say Prime and some combination of Bumblebee, Jazz, and Grimlock. As to which two out of those three...well that's a really tough call. Even though Jazz and Grimlock are my favorite TF's I think that Grimlock get's left out in a tight race.
Are we talking about military ranking, impact on the Autobot armed forces, influence on the wider course of Cybertronian history, popularity with fans, importance as character types in the show/comics or what? Gary
In terms of iconic status, both toy and TV, I'd say Op, Bumblebee, and Grimlock. I might've subbed Ironhide, but his lame toy forbade it.
I'd say Prime, Grimlock, and Bumblebee. Although Hot Rod, Jazz, Prowl, could be substituted... they're not quite as definitive as the Decepticons
