That's pretty much my approach for any game..if not wait even longer for the ~$13 used copy from Gamestop. I'll get it eventually either for the PS2 or a next-gen console if I have one by then.

    So probably the PS2.

I preordered the collector's edition on 360. I didn't regret paying for the armada game, I and probably won't regret this.

I saw it running at the London Expo, and it certainly looks the part (humans running screaming from the giant robots - very cool!)

I'll wait and see what the reviews say - I'd certainly like it for the PS3 if it runs as smoothly as the 360 version I saw running. I saw some excellent Decepticon missions, and both Scorponok and Blackout have unique moves and objectives. The models were superb, even if I'm not a big fan of the designs overall.

I agree. I still play the Armada game, and it's a shame those guys didn't get to make their sequel (the story to it sounded awsome and involved a lot of G1 elements (vector sigma etc etc). Their engine was solid, and the draw-distance for a PS2 game was amazing. It's one of the better-looking games on the PS2 and no one gave it credit for it. In fact they complained about the sluggish controls and deducted points for it, while giving Mechassault 8s and 9s when it has extremely similar controls... HELLO! they're robots, they tend to lumber.

Anyway, already preordered the PS3 and PSP versions, though I'm a little worried about the PSP version because nothing has been shown on it. I do like that you have a choice of 20 characters (some from G1), though hopefully they are not just repaints (polygonally-speaking).

Can anyone tell me the difference between Target's Robovision version of the game and getting it somewhere else (Best Buy, Wal Mart, etc)? Any help would be appreciated.

Supposedly the Target versions of the game are the ones with the G1 skins for unlockables. That and their the only ones I've seen the PC version listed for.

I'll get the PC version for my laptop so I can geek out at pretentious area coffee shops. Swindle isn't exclusive to any one version, is he?

PS2 First, then when I get my DS for my birthday (July 5th), I'll be able to grab DS Autobots and DS Decepticons.

(PS2 only beats Wii for the control system, I prefer controllers to motion)

Swindle isnt even a confirmed playable character.

The only ones confirmed so far are on the consoles:-
    - Prime
    - Ironhide
    - Jazz
    - BB
    - Starscream
    - Blackout
    - Barricade
    - Megatron
    - Scorponok

But seeing as the PSP version is rumored to have 20 playable characters, I would expect Swindle to make an appearence there.

Would have bought the PS2, but mine was just taken (along with damn near everything else) in a burglary.

Probably gonna wait a whiles and rent an X-box 360 or PS3 and the game, if I can't borrow one from a friend for a long weekend.

Thanks. His toy packaging says he's in the game. I don't care if he's playable or not, I just want to see him in there.
