If there is one hero and villain interaction and characterization that can stand the test of time in the realm of cartoons, it's Transformers.

The life that Cullen and Welker gave to Prime and Megatron is yet to be surpassed by any other children's tv show. Their characters seem just a bit deeper now when I look at them in my older age. When you compare Prime and Megs to the kind of stuff you see today....no competition.

A big thank-you to Cullen and Welker.

Well said Conceptron! Well, I wouldn't go so far as to say that no animated show since hasn't supassed G1 in depth. But there is a reason G1 remains so iconic and my favorite cartoon of all time and it has to do with that "life" you mentioned. Op and Megs are classic archtypes in the Shakespearean mould and belong up there with the greatest fictional hero/villain struggles of all time - King Arthur/Mordred, Robin Hood/The Sheriff, Holmes/Moriarty, Skywalker/Vader, Batman/Joker, Superman/Luthor, Xavier/Magneto, Optimus/Megatron, etc. See, two sides of the same coin that are so totally timeless. And it's all thanks to Cullen and Welker.

Yeah, Peter made Optimus Prime the legend he has become. He made him one of the most noble and compitant leaders/heroes I've ever watched in a show or movie. Prime sounded like he had all the confidence and assurance anyone was looking for and you could always listen to what he had to say and fall back on his leadership. He always sounded like he was in control of the situation. And that was very comforting to listen to. That kind of confidense sound seemed to have a subconcious effect on myself where it made me a bit more relaxed and feel more confident in myself with what I wanted to do.

And Frank voiced about half of the great characters inside the entire original Transformers mythology so right there the franchise owes a large part of it's success to him for making all these characters come alive. He didn't just voice all those characters, he acted and did it well. He made brought them all to life and each had their own distinct personality. If I had not ever looked at the credit list on IMDB a while back I would have never known all those characters were voiced by the same man... by the same actor. That's how great of a job he did.

All the actors (and especially Cullen and Welker) that worked on the original show hold a very special place in my heart. If not for them I doubt the show would have been that enjoyable or the characters that beloved. They made the characters special. They made Transformers special.

I also would like to take the time to thank Peter Cullen for making Voltron another one of my favorite shows. He was magical in his roles there too!

There are so many cartoons from that era that these guys made good. G.I. Joe, Visionaries, and the list goes on and on into non-action animation like Scooby Doo and Whinny the Poo (which was my little sisters favorites).

Simply put, I absolutely appreciate their talents and sharing those talents with us. It was a blessing to our childhoods. (My sister and I).

You're right Rodimus. ALL the G1 VOs derserve the credit. I could go on forever listing what I love about each and every one of them. They were truly a blessing indeed. And I see the wonderful tradition being carried on by the cast of BW and the Dobson Brothers and more. And Welker really is amazingly versatile. I mean he's not just Megatron, he's half the Decepticon army all by his lonesome.
