Check it out. http://music.ign.com/articles/792/792472p1.html It's not exactly full of new information, but hey it's a 20 year old soundtrack. **Laments the apparent loss of the 'Unicorn Medley'**
Yeah, I agree that some of the songs are cheesy presently but back then, the songtrack ROCKED hard in my book! I would have given it at least 7.5 or an 8...after taking into consideration that this track is 20 yrs old!
It looks like the reviewer doesn't like the soundtrack mostly because it keeps 'borrowing' from other soundtracks, which really isn't anything new in this day-and-age. Oh well, to each their own. I personally don't read too much into what IGN thinks review-wise anymore. They really liked Spider-man 3.
*0's metal is cheesy but it still kicks ass. I'm looking forward to get the re-release of the soundtrack so I can blast 'Instruments of Destruction' at 8000000 Db out my speakers I've learned long ago that if it's been positively reviwed by critics it'll be horrible. I.E: The movie 'Babel'.
Neither did I. I just listened to it for the first time and I have to say that I don't think that it has the right sound that would have fit into the movie. Though don't get me wrong it's a great track.
Personally I rank the Transformers the Movie soundtrack as one of my top favorites! I LOVE The Touch and Dare and especially Dare to be Stupid. The instrumentals are great too such as Escape and Autobot/Decepticon Battle. I may have to buy the new edition to get those bonus tracks that aren't on my disc....
IGN must be stopped. No matter the cost. It's lucky they didn't mention Dare. If they had commented negatively on it, I think I might have cried a small amount.
