hello everyone! i'm making this thread 'coz i have some questions related to the G1 comics and cartoons and i don't have enough time to go through all the material, so i'd appreciate all the help. here they go... 1. exactly how many deaths did optimus prime have in (comic & cartoon) 2. exactly how many times was megatron "reborn as" into another being? (i only know of megs into galvie in TFTM, then super/ultra megatron in battlestars). 3. how many times and in what episodes in the G1 cartoon did optimus prime and megatron teamed up for the greater good/benefit? (i can only recall countdown to extinction and the core at the present). thanks!
Oh boy, I don't know. Prime only died once in the American cartoon, twice if you count Japanese Headmasters. I think he "technically" never died in the Marvel comic, only his body was destroyed twice (First time he was downloaded onto a disk, second time he "merged" with Hi-Q). I dunno about any of the other comics. Have no clue on the others.
Don't know about the UK,but in the US comics he died three times. 1-Beats Megs at a game, but at the cost of civilians that were part of the game.So Prime more or less forfited victory to Megs.{Loser of the game dies in the real world} Prime is later brought back as Powermaster Prime {Goldbug aquires a disk with Prime's personality on it.} 2-Powermaster Prime died while unleashing the power of the creation matrix to kill Unicron.{Though Prime died it's later revealed that Hi-test and Prime were becoming a whole being. But with Prime gone the process happened in Hi-Test's body.} The Last Autobot having seen this finalizes the process and gives Prime a new body. 3-In the G2 comics Prime dies and is reborn as Hero Prime in the last issue.
Been a long time since I've read it, but I belive the Last Autobot gives him the Action Master body to be specific. Been an extreemely long time since I've read it, but I think he came back as the same ol' Prime he was before the swarm ate him.
Yeh I thought I had forgot something. In Alignment {Simon Furman's take on what happened after the Generation 2 comic} Prime falls again after taking out Galvatron.
Actually twice in the American cartoon, if you count the movie. He died in the Movie, and then again in the Dark Awakening episode. 3 times if you count when Orion Pax died.
I remember reading a Simon Furman interview a while back where he said it WASN'T the Action Master body and it was just a coincidence that it happened to look like the toy. I was very surprised to read that, because you're right, it looks JUST like the Action Master and I always assumed that was intentional.
I always figured it was the Action Master since that was the toy on the market at the time. But I suppose it could also have been based on the Powermaster cab robot, which has the exact same design as the Action Master on paper (since the Action Masters were all modelled after the last version of that character released with the exception of Grimlock I believe)
I assume you mean G1 Megatron: Reborn as Galvatron, TFTM Galvatron reborn as Super Megatron, Return of Convoy S-Megatron reborn as Ultra Magatron, Return of Convoy Fused with Dark Nova to become Star God Megatron, Return of Convoy G2 Megatron, may or may not be an upgrade of Ultra Megatron from Battlestars. G2 Megatron, a rebuilt version of his G1 self using Cobra technology. That's 5 or 6 times, depending on how you take the Japanese continuity.
I didn't think he died again in Dark Awakening, he was already dead, just some sort of zombie? Forgot about Pax, I guess you can consider that a death. As for the G1 comic, I never really considered those "deaths" as such, because he was sort of downloaded each time, but if you wanna call them deaths then it's all good.
I remember that distinctly. My school library used to get comic books and I remember Megatron trying to break into the GI Joe's base and getting so beat up but surviving then compromising with them to make him that horrible tank body we got in G2. It was the only thing that explained why he wasnt a gun anymore. If I recall, the artwork for said comic book was pretty good, and tankatron actually looked kind of cool. Kind of...
