I was just at Target a few days ago and all the other stuff was sold out (empty pegs of the Classics and Cyberton; no alternators or titaniums) But there were plenty of the movie toys. The movie toys were stocked full with all the other Transformers sold out.

So I guess they're not selling that well here.

I bought Prime and Starscream and I kinda like them, but I can understand why they aren't selling to well.

At Target this past Tuesday they were still fully stocked. I didn't want 'em.

They are really not cool looking at all so I can understand why kids don't get them. I saw a kid stand in front of the Transformers, pick up a Classic, and completely ignore the movie toys. I second his opinion. :)

I just hope casual buyers not usually into Transformers don't see the Protoforms (two toys that personally I really like) and think they're the full extent of the Movie range due to the absence of other characters.

The general public probably doesn't know what the hell they even are. I doubt these things are going to be selling to anybody but collectors till the movie is out, and even then, I can see people passing over those for the other movie toys.

I've got no interest in getting any of the Protoform toys and I'm actually following the movie very closely.

Pegs and pegs filled to the brim for the past 2 weeks - no, they are not selling. I'm glad because the rest of the lines are almost all sold out, all empty pegs. That should say something to Hasbro, loud and clear too.

They've been at TRU, 2 WMTS, and a Target I frequent for going on two weeks and the stock levels have hardly changed at all.

I already predicted they would be shelfwarmers. The alt-modes are terrible: like a plastic turd with wheels.

I'll probably get the Prime one later after they go on clearance because it's a decent figure, but as I've said in a couple other threads here: $10 is just too much to pay for a TF-version of Rock Lords.

I don't think it was a very good idea for the stores to stock their shelves full of these two.

Unless the stores are going to send all of the unsold ones into their backrooms or back to Hasbro, there will not be any room for the actual movie figures.

    Indeed.
And let's face it, One TF fan kid is going to come back and buy as many of the different types of TF on the shelves as he can (I know I did) not when there's just two to pick from.

That, and I can't see plain-looking robot modes with crap Alt forms selling well.

They are not selling well at all around here, any place that has them are flooded with them.

I thought we were past the "these look like turds" immaturity found towards the Protoforms on other boards. Guess not.... :(

Still, at least we haven't descended to the "Turd-formers LOL" I've seen doing the rounds (with the people saying this actually thinking they're being funny and original, poor souls).

Actually it's a pretty decent price for a highly-articulated, really tall for a deluxe (same height as Classics Grimlock), TF-version of a Rock Lord.

I love the protoforms. I was planning to skip the movie line, but after getting the Optimus protoform I fell in love with the design, went back and grabbed Starscream, and am now eagerly awaiting the rest of the movie toys (especially Leader-class Optimus). Of all the deluxe-sized Primes I own, protoform Optimus is my new favorite.

We're never going to be past that, ever. Every time a topic about them comes up, someone's always going to pop in with little else to say related to the topic other than "tehy look like turds"; just to keep right on pummeling that deceased equine.

Anyway, still haven't seen any at another of the Targets I checked today.

I think Hasbro should have had 4 preview figures to break up the cases more. 2 per case would probably move quicker than four per case.

I think Hasbro shot themselves in the foot big time with the protoforms and regular movie deluxe toys having the same DPCI. If the protoforms don't sell through quickly enough, the movie deluxes will be stuck in the backroom.

Both Wal-Mart and Target here have been selling them well. Wal-Mart only had about 3 left.

I just phoned Toys R us over here in Germany and asked them if they will have the new movie line. They said that they will have the toys in june, and for now they have the 2 protoform toys, selling for 14,99 euros. So, I´m gonna go there next week and buy them! :D  :D  :D
