i don't know if anyone has said this yet or not, i jumped to the end after page 3, but you could always go to the store, tell them it was something you found after you returned the prduct and let them make the final say. Becuase it very well might go to the trash they will say keep it. Or at the very best they wouldn't know what product it came from and just let it be. At that point you gave them the choice as to what to do with it.

but saying you found it after the fact when you knowingly didnt put it in in the first place adds insult to injury so you have theft and lies now

It is absolutely stealing. Some people might say it's not a big deal, but integrity isn't something you gain in an instant. It's the little choices you make throughout your life, like this one, that determine what kind of integrity you have in the long run. When it comes to stealing, in my opinion it's never right, no matter how small the item might be.

I agree with Metroflex. Size and expense is relative. I know people that make so much money, they waste more at a horse race than I make in a year. To me, that is a big deal where it is not to them. Does that mean it would be ok for me to pretend to be a bookie and take the money they are gonna lose? They won't miss it as it's a drop in the bucket. Regardless of how you try to justify it because of the worth of the item, it's still stealing. You are taking something that does not belong to you. When you bought the item, you paid for everything that came in the box. If you return it for a 100% refund, then you should return 100% of the item. If you keep 1% it's stealing. Sure, it's an insignificant percentage, but you aren't just getting a 99% refund are you?

I bought an alternator Shockblast that not only didn't have a gun but didn't have a HEAD. He was obviously a return.

The broken returns shouldn't be resold and should be returned to hasbro and destroyed.

Honestly, I'd keep the gun just as an inconvenience fee. They're never going to re-use that gun in another toy.
