I would go for it. Sure, he has a G1 brickishness to him, but that's part of his charm. I own both the purple and the original versions, and the purple looks much nicer. It's a subtle shade, not garish (like, say, Classics Skywarp), and goes well with the grey. The red metallic paint on his abs, and the metallic stickers, are a really nice accent. The remolded face looks nice, and more like the character. On top of that, you get a little metal Matrix to hang around his neck!

There were also a few other nice touches to "modernize" him.... like swapping out the outdated 9-volt battery for a pair of AAA's.

I waffled a bit before buying him, but now I'm very glad I did and have no regrets.

Mind you, he might look a bit odd standing next to MP Prime. He IS still a G1 toy, so his pose-ability and aesthetic won't quite match. But he looks GREAT as a counterpart to one of the big bricky G1 Primes: Powermaster, God Ginrai, or Star Convoy.

Get him, as he's the only reissue that rants in Japanese. Fun for all.

If not the E-Hobby reissue, opt for Classics Megatron and some purple paint, or the Energon Galvatron.

I passed on Galvatron since my original is still in great shape so I can't give you any feedback on the actual toy, but since I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for Classics to return I'd say get it for sure. Titanium is a possibility, but hell it's the only REAL G1 Galvatron, in better colors than the original!

$70 seems like a good price. Last time I bought from TFsource I was very happy, I got a good deal and my stuff came fast and packed very nicely. If you really like the character, I wouldn't wait for something that hasn't even been announced. If they ever do a classics, get it too, it would probably be $20 at the most anyways.
