Surely the mold for guyhawk is still kickin around somewhere other wise they wouldnt be able to produce this knockoff right? |

But the reason they didn't make it to Europe, I think, wasn't because the molds were lost. I think Hasbro made a concious decision not to issue them because of the built in limbs. Same reason for the lack of combiner parts on the Motorvators and Constructicons, Hasbro simply didn't want to release combiners at the time I believe.
If you think of it, Transformers was not the draw it was when those guys were released. I think someone in Hasbro Europe's marketing division of the time decided that releasing a line of "collect them all" type combiners would not have sold - rather than buying them all, they'd have been passed on altogether, because the line was not popular enough to make people buy that many toys in one go.
That is the only way I can explain Devastator, released without combiner parts at this time, but later reissued completely. In my mind a concious decision must have been made to not release the parts with him at that time, because had they wanted to, they could have included them, Generation 2 shows us that much. No, I think all three combiners released without their parts and members was intentional. Quote: |
