So, flipping through the Dreamwave profile books, I noticed that all the sentient Action Master partners were designated Targetmasters. This got me to thinking: what other toys kinda fit in with gimmics that they were not created for? I'll give an example: Overlord, while a Powermaster, is also a Duocon. His bot mode breaks down into two vehicles, and cannot make his robot mode properly without both vehicles. By this notion, G1 Omega Supreme is a "Duocon" as well.
Can any one think of any other examples?

Perceptor is a Triplechanger, despite not being advertised as one.
Tigerhawk is sort of a Fuzor, and sort of a Triplechanger.
Armada Sideways' Mini-cons act as headmasters.
A great many Mini-cons are effectively targetmasters.

Most of the Mini-cons fit into Target/Head/Power Master subgroups, though the defining difference was no tthe mini-con itself, but the TF they go to. Like Armada Wheeljack was a Powermaster design, a Minicon was essential to it's transformation. As mentioned, Sideways was a Headmaster, and Cybertron Vector Prime was a Targetmaster.

G1 Metroplex is also kind of a triple changer (bot, rolling battle station, city)

Any Mini-con that turns into a weapon as well as a vehicle are not only Targetmasters, but also Triplechangers.
To an extent, Megatron, Shockwave, Sixshot and Quickswitch COULD be considered Targetmasters. Megatron more than the others, as he was often shown in alt mode being held by another robot. Not so sure about Sixshot or Quickswitch, but Shockwave didn't mass-shift, so maybe not him.

Like SPLIT LIP says, Perceptor has a tank mode. I think it may even have been used once or twice in some obscure fiction or another.

The Seacons were a sort of Targetmaster too, since in gestalt form one of them became a gun.

Megatron actually called Tigerhawk a Fuzor (seemingly a derogitory term) in one of the last episodes of Beast Wars.

Overload's Minicon wa sboth Targetmaster and Headmaster.

Fort Max and Trypticon would also be triplechangers.

Technically, I'd throw in Cyb. Shortround too, since he has that toilet mode.;)

Too bad Perceptor was too much of a wuss to ever play the part of a tank.

Also, some of the BM Vehicons can be combined in interesting ways. :D

Well to add to the group, all the Max Bots are Triplechangers too. Robot, Space Cruiser, City.

The original Omega Supreme sort of had 4 modes too. Rocket ship (alone), Tank (alone), Robot, complete base.

Well, not really. Duocons were two vehicles that combined into one robot. The robot could only be formed by using both vehicles. Neither vehicle could do anything on its own. The E. Combiners had a stand-alone robot mode in addition to their combiner gimmick and individual vehicle modes.

I will say that E. Towline (along with G1 Ratchet/Ironhide) was sort of a reverse Duocon. He needed both his robot mode and his gun platform to form his vehicle mode.

FAB Optimus Prime has a non-documented punching action (spring-loaded waist).

No, to qualify as a Duocon, you need to have 2 vehicles that don't have individual robot modes and can only have one when they merge.

I don't see it as a real Headmaster since it doesn't transform into a head, it just hides the head.

Tidal Wave could be considered a Triple changer (Three small ships, one big ship) and to a lesser extent, a gestalt.

Most of the five-part-combiner leaders(the torso-bots) had a base mode, making the triple-changers. Quadruple even, if you count the combiner mode as a transformation, which it is. which also makes the limb-bots tripple-changers, except the aforementioned Seacon limbs, who would be Quadruple-changers due to their Targetmaster modes.
