The game really deserved to do better, but Atari really didn't put much effort into promoting it. Its too bad - Melbourne House was in the early stages of developing their Cybertron game in mid 2004 when Atari moved them to another project, cancelling the game.

About a year later Atari sold their Hasbro game licenses (including TF) to Hasbro. Fandom knee-jerk reaction was that Hasbro alledgedly pulled the license from poor Atari. Without any evidence, I might add.

I'm pretty sure Activision (or whichever subsidiary or third party studio they assign to do the movie game) will probably not do as good a job.

Maybe they'll give the license to EA Games, so the new Transformers game will be buggy and half-patched as EA Games boots it out the door and into the public's hands, with nearly no online support!!

But overall this is a STRONG game. Definitely the best TF game out there. Which I guess doesn't say muc since there aren't that many to begin with
Wha???

I've been playing it since it came out, and I can not kill Unicron.

Maybe I just suck.

Anyway, I paid full price for it, and never regretted it once. Awesome game.

It's pretty good, I haven't had much of a chance to play it though but I did find the controls a bit hard and some parts pretty difficult. But it is fun and very visually pleasing.

I liked it.
My only problem was that there was not too much to provide a sense of scale.
The robots only look so big in the mountains and in the Amazon, etc.

That, and the fight with Tidal Wave is nigh impossible without a cheat code.

It's a brilliant game, well worth getting. Once you get used to the controls they aren't all that confusing. Minicons are awesome too, allowing a massive amount of customisation.

Nah, you don't suck. You're just not as good as me

Unicron was one of the few bosses that didn't take me multiple tries to figure out what to do. The main Decepticons took me multiple tries before I got their pattern of attack

Very fun game to play. Just that game alone is worth buying a PS2 for. Smashing into Decepticlones and then switching to robot mode and opening fire just looks so damn awesome.

It's still my favorite PS2 game. I still play it to relieve some stress. Blasting Decepticlones is something I'll never get tired of.
