Is the Cybertron cartoon also so horrible?

Because the original Japanese plot was so consistent and easy to follow to begin with?

Don't. I watched the first half of the first season. It was painful. I don't understand AT ALL what people see in this thing. And when you say it's one of the best Western cartoons, please tell me you're only talking about Western TF cartoons....

Well it's INFINITELY better than the laughable, pathetically animated, continuity error ridden, sane-plotless G1 cartoon. If you only watched the first half of season one of BW, then you missed all the truly brilliant stuff. And, as such, you have my pity.
On topic: Cybertron is... bearable. Galaxy Force, however, is a hell of a lot better. (Kudos to Magiranger & the TV-Nihon guys for bringing it to us). And both Cybertron and GF are infinitely more enjoyable than either Armada or Energon.

Well, Season 1, especially the first few episodes of Season 1, aren't the highlights of Beast Wars.

See, I'm from the camp of if I don't like something when I first try it at the beginning, why keep going? There are better things in life to experience, many not involving robotic Munkys.

You: "Bashing your head against a wall is fun!"
    Me: "It is?"
You: "Yeah, after 10 bashes, you can't feel the pain anymore and then you get all woozy, it's great!"
    Me: "Right....."

To each their own, I always say! And, remember, I said before that I own magic rose-colored glasses, so even though G1 is lame to the nth degree, it's still the best in my book.

Cybertron was not that bad. After you got past the planet-sized plot holes in the series. When it was connected to Armada & Energon during the dubing process, it became.................worse.

The humans are always..annoying. Rad was bearable. Dr. jones, i thought, was funny at times. Otherwise, you can forget a "cool" human.

Anyways we all know the Cybertron equation--- Excuse=(Super-Natural-Time-&-Space-Destroying)+Black Hole

In order for that to work. the thing which you don't want to watch has to be bad. This is not the case with Beast Wars.

And also, you must have a pretty fucked up life.

Actually, it's more like being offered a freshly-cooked knackwurst on an egg roll and saying "No thanks, I ate an old hot dog off of the floor of a 7-11 once, it sucked."

    Just skip the first season.

is it horrible? no, is it better then armada? yes, is it better then Energon, maybe. *so so, because i liked the "kids" better in energon then in this one, but that's the only part of energon i like better then cybertron* it's not great, it's not bad, but it is fun. you might want to try the japanese one though if you are unsure about the american one. some of the voices are pretty bad, in the american one, like thunderblast, but other character voices are great, like wingsaber, or jetfire, but too many have weird acsents, but it's not that bad i think it is actually simular to g1 in that since, so i like it.

and i like Lori, too, and the whole scourge afraid of her thing lol

all in all give the show a shot.

I watch Cybertron every morning I wake up, and I look at it, and said..."Well thank Odd it's 10x better than the Energon series" XD

Between Override and Thunderblast, I'm happy to decide over Override...Thunderblast is too much of a quirky one to actually like.

And hey...looking from Cybertron and Energon...all in Cybertron are helluva lot handsome-er ^^

I rather like Cybertron overall. It was much more watchable than Armada or Energon for me (not to mention less error-ridden in the dub) The nice thing about the dub (to me) is that they attempt to gloss over the stock footage with some chatter. the accents can be a little annoying, but you get used to them quickly.

One thing I like in my TF shows is a little fun and humor. G1 had some. BW had a lot, and Cybertron has a fair amount too. At least in Cybertron a joke feels like a joke, as opposed to Armada or Energon, where it often felt more like a non-sequitir that probably worked better in Japanese. Ransack, Crumplezone, Thundercracker, and Thunderblast all made enjoyable comedy characters.

If there's one thing I don't like in my anime series, something Cybertron had in spades, it's that "force of will overcomes anything and everything" crap. I got mighty tired of characters that appear exhausted and near-death, then quickly getting worked up enough and... clean, mean, pristine, and ready to fight for ten hours straight again.

Heh, I'm not the one who doesn't see things through to the end, has a very fucked up logic, and likes something that he thinks sucks because of his "magic rose-colored glasses".

Anyways, thanks. I've never been called pompous ass before in my life. Today has been full of surprises.

...and that says a LOT coming from a guy who's known for being as picky as possible about anything you can be picky about. Those two fights exemplify everything that makes Galaxy Force my favorite TF series ever.

As a glorified toy commercial, there are a lot of things that a TransFormers TV series will probably never be. A TF show will probably never be deep. It might have a few occasional semi-deep moments like Beast Wars did, but that's all. But if there's any one thing that a kids show about warring alien robots has tons of potential for, it's action. Galaxy Force got more out of that potential than any other series I've watched to completion. Like every long running action cartoon, it has its share of "we need a generic fight scene for this episode" fights, but it's best fights outshine and probably outnumber the outstanding fights of other TransFormers shows.

On a related note, you don't need injury and death to make a great action scene.

Give me a link to a good fight scene from Galaxy Force. I need to kill some time before I head to bed.

Also, I beg to differ about a TF cartoons not being deep. BW and especially, BM come to mind.
