Animated is the one that needs to get an update for sure someday. So much unexplored territory.

I'd say Armada (and Energon and Cybertron as part of a tidy trilogy), just because there was so much lost potential. The series was a constant parade of errors, that diminished much of what it was trying to do. The end product is a mediocre anime with a few strong ideas buried under a mountain of dreck. Reboot that baby!

I voted Animated but I really don't want the show to get a reboot as much as I want a continuation/Season 4.

Nah. It's an IDW adaptation, which means it's as much a reboot of G1 as Prime or Animated are reboots of G1.

I ultimately went with Armada over Beast Wars, simply because Beast Wars was done correctly. If Beast Wars were to be remade, I'd rather have it completely separate from the original and be made its own thing.

Armada was a horribly botched idea anime-wise, and really too short-lived in the Dreamwave comics, though I think the latter handled characterization among the Minicons infinitely better than the former. The idea of rebooting Armada opens up even more questions when considering that on the Hasbro side, Armada is succeeded by Energon, and then Cybertron, which all are very gimmick-oriented series and as a result suffer from poor implementation story-wise. Minicons are actual characters, despite being smaller Transformers yet are the entire focus of Armada. Yet after the defeat of Unicron, they all kind of just disappear and for the most part are never referenced again. The next fad is Energon, which at the very least has enough sense to go back to the original premise of the basic conflict: war for energy. The issue here is that everything was Unicron centric but without treating the Chaos Bringer as a proper sentient character in his own right. Also, the big gimmick among the Autobots was the whole "spark of combination" which sort of came out of nowhere and made all the Autobots combiners in some form. Lastly, there is Cybertron which focuses on the Black Hole about to destroy the homeworld of the Transformers whose new gimmick are the Cyber Planet Keys! .... which again, come out of nowhere and keep omitting the past gimmicks from the story.

Then of course there's the whole thing about Megatron constantly being upgraded to Galvatron via new paint apps... just to get a new mold and be called Megatron again. This happens 3 times! At least the Japanese versions made a bit more sense in that Megatron didn't become Galvatron in each series (Megs becomes Super-mode Megs in Micron Legend, THEN gets reformatted into Galvatron in Super-Link, followed by a super-mode upgrade; Galaxy Force I believe is considered separate from the first two series, so Master Megatron becoming Master Galvatron isn't really as much of an issue).

Personally, I would try not to center around gimmicks dictating the storyline and would prefer to have characters from all over the "Armada-verse" (including Energon and Cybertron) already be present to help add to the diversity, especially in terms of bulking up the Autobot and Decepticon ranks which have barely 10 guys per side.

This is a very good idea.

I've been understanding the question as meaning: what series would you like to see continued.
To wich the answer would be Beast Wars and with reservations G1.

However if i must understand that i am being asked wich show would you like to be done all over in a completely new way, i have to say Armada holds a lot of potential and the DW comics had a lot of interesting thinks in them like the destroyed G1 verse, the morally ambigious Destructicon team (if that is the correct name) Unicrons minions visiting the Armadaverse.
I would stay away from having the finale revolve around a failed quintesson invasion though, that theme has been used a couple of times too many imo, and i never really saw the G1 Quintessons as a territorial empire, more like a trade empire wich is what makes them an interesting faction in the TF franchise.
I would also keep Kicker out of it, or if he is involved make him Alexis insecure geeky little brother or something.

But is till think G2 and Machine Wars deserve a cartoon, the Fun Pub stories had some very good stuff in them. And the G2 and MW characters have a lot of potential.

Isn't every series just basically a reboot of G1? I've yet to see a series where Transformers are just human built machines named Bob and Dan. All the series follow G1 in some regard.

Since Generation 2 wasn't an option I didn't select it, but I definitely hear you on that. I would love a proper Generation 2 (and by extension I think Machine Wars is part of G2?) animated series.

The big questions of course are: What is Generation 2 in reference to? Is it connected to Generation 1, or is it an entirely separate universe with a specific focus on those characters that appeared in the Generation 2 (and Machine Wars) toyline only (which retains a few classics such as Bumblebee, Jazz, Inferno, and Sideswipe), but for the most part consists of many new characters as well.

I've long felt that Generation 2 had a lot more potential than being a cabash of old random Generation 1 episodes edited to have weird cg scene transfers and warranted new stories and new animation (I am aware of the G2 comic, but it's just not the same!).

See to me, G2 in and of itself was already a reboot of G1 (if we're referring to the comics and toyline). What G2 should have done was expanded upon seasons 1 and 2 pre movie era, and offered a look back at the original cast and all of the events leading up to the movie. Figure it would be G1.5

Beast Wars/Machines. And no, I don't mean like a half-assed grimdark reboot with Uprising. I mean a new Beast Wars series, with the Vehicons returning. If you want, you could even set it on post-apocalyptic Earth.
