Here's the easiest vote of all time.

Omega is another stereotypical giant who speaks like a brute and has literally no personality. Whether in comics or in cartoon, Omega has nothing going on, ever.

    versus

Fortress Maximus who is an actual character with personality and an arc.

    Fortress Maximus, of course.

If its G1 American cartoon...Fort Max didn't have much of a personality too, dude.

Japanese cartoon and comics wise...yeah, I agree with you...Fort Max all the way!

Cartoon? Omega. Max was a non-entity for the most part.
Comics? Fort Max, hands down. Omega had a great first appearance but didn't do much after that except get defeated by Buzzsaw.

They never had a reason to say his personality was anything but the combination of Spike and Cerebros. And Spike became the dominant personality after Cerebros caved in. Which is better than having Fortress Maximus to have a suicidal pacifist personality. :lol

So I am with him when it comes to all three versions. :)

Max had so much more character in the comics and if you cound spike and cerebros he did in the comics too. Omega was fun but he wasn't interesting, basically a step up from an a big weapon pulled out when ever the bots really needed the win.

I can see building multiple stories around max, I just can't see that for omega. So max gets my vote.

Never had a Fortress Maximus, but I did own Omega... I want a G1 update made like Metroplex is. Not IDW or anything like that... A 201X G1 based Generations Omega Supreme.

Omega Supreme. Granted my biggest source in the 80's was the US cartoon (far more use of OS versus Fort Max), but I never understood turning Spike into a transformer.

I'm still waiting for the eventual Titan class figure to get released and his Omega Sentinel repaints.

For me, it's Omega Supreme. As a kid, I never even knew who Fort Max was really except a huge figure I heard about but could never get, and a really dull cartoon character that seemed (to my young self) as nothing more than a piloted mech.
Omega Supreme, on the other hand, was a very fun toy that was readily available. He was also Devastator's rival, which made the play value that much better.
When it comes down to it, I have no connection whatsoever to FM. The headmaster gimmick was never anything I liked, so Omega Supreme wins.

I chose Omega Supreme because the reasons below:

1.In that one episode of him going up against Devastator was one of the best scenes in TF History.
2.He was the first motorized TF where his tank could actually move without human intervention.
3.He was the Ultimate Partsformer, some people can't stand those but I actually loved them.
4.He could also walk too in robot mode (albeit a little wobbley)
5.He had one of the most unique alt modes a rocket with launch base & a tank border station.
6.He was referenced as being a Guardian on Cybertron.

Honestly I could go on for hours but I won't,as they say "I will just let the facts speak for themselves",but Omega is One Cool Robot.

I had already moved on from Transformers by the time Fort Max was released, so the character means nothing to me. I had Omega Supreme when I was about 9, so I really want an updated figure to face off against Titan Devastator.

The Headmaster concept always confused me. We were told that they shared their bodies and personalities with the Nebulons, but it wasn't long before it seemed like Zarak was actually Scorponok and Fort Max was nothing without Spike. I like Omega Supreme more, since he's a real Transformer and not just someone piloting a giant robot.

When it comes to toys, Fort Max all the way!

I'm going to cheat a bit. I don't really know anything about what their characters are supposed to be like in the shows or comics. I dimly recall Omega Supreme was just some kind of robotic deep voiced kill machine in the show. In the 80s Marvel comic, I think Fort Max was presented as a whiney little bitch. But for me the cartoon and comic was always secondary to the presence of the toy.

I never had either toy. I flat out didn't want an Omega Supreme. I thought the OS toy looked horrible, cheap, and just flat out stupid. I really felt it looked like a playskool toy or something. I thought the motorization was lame and I thought the big, chunky partsforming was stupid. So in my mind Omega Supreme developed the personality of the big dumb fat guy who no one liked.

On the other hand, I wanted to get Fortress Maximus. The irrational thing which has always elevated his cool factor to me is the double headmaster gimmick. Anyway, Fort Max was big, boxy, and when I look at it objectively he shared some of the same playskool like qualities of OS, but Max always seemed cooler. Maybe it was all the little bits, or the double Headmaster, or just the way his legs folded up for city transformation, or just the lack of a motorization gimmick. Max never developed the stigma in my eyes that OS did. And in my mind, Fort Max was a huge noble autobot leader and soldier who was the true successor to Optimus Prime.

So yeah Fort Max is the easy choice for me, but it's all because of my personal canon and not anyone else's.

Well.... In #79 we see Spike at odds with Fort Max. Spike is in the pilot's seat mentally and has mostly regulated Max to a voice in the back of his mind. We can only assume that Zarak also pushed Scorponok's mind to the side as time went on. He also had a lot more screen time so you could see the slow transition from Scorponok's personality being dominant to Zarak being dominant. The other Headmasters probably had similar issues but no one ever paid attention to them :lol

The only version of Fort Max I was familiar with as a child was the one from the UK Autobot comic. He was one of my favourite characters and I was a bit disappointed that we didn't have a toy of him in the UK at the time (if he doesn't turn up here like Devastator, I'm going to be p*****.). I also liked the idea of there being another (imho, more interesting) Autobot leader apart from Rodimus and Optimus.

Saying that, Animated Omega Supreme is awesome.

Easy: Fort Max. Omega Supreme is kinda boring.
