    That's good, because IDW isn't G1.

    2. TFA Optimus
    3. Primal, specifically the epically misguided Beast Machines character
    4. Bay Optimus

    ummmm... I'm not sure I can think of a fifth choice that I particularly like. Prime? No. RiD? He wasn't Optimus, and no, anyway. Unicron Trilogy? Not really. IDW? Eh. Geez, maybe my fifth choice would be Marvel Optimus, in spite of him being a GD idiot.

    To me it would have to be the first live action movie Optimus. Not counting past the first movie, Optimus was characterized exactly as I would want him to be. Saying things like "You left me no choice, brother". He didn't want to destroy Decepticons, he was willing to give up his own life for the humans. That is the Optimus I know and love. I wish the movies would have stuck with that.

    As much as I'm down on movie optimus, I have to agree with this. His character balance was good in the first one. The problem was everyone said Optimus killing that one guy under the overpass was their favorite scene, and the filmmakers were like "oh, they want Optimus to be bloodthirsty! can do!"

    Why would I choose any others besides Animated Prime and BW Primal?
    They were the only ones you could say were complex.

    I mean, I guess G1 was sorta fun in that Adam West Batman cheesy sort of way.
