In my opinion, I think Bombshell became Cyclonus as he was the one in front and Skywarp became his armada, as seen in this picture

Well, NONE of them had "sparks" since "sparks" didn't exist back then. I see your point, but I detest retcons.

 

good video, but i was confused by your description of the color of rumble and who is cyclonus debates as a "continuity" problem.....mistakes they may have been but not continuity mistakes.

your words, and the reason its obviously clear who's who is because thundercracker was in the forefront when the names was mentioned.

based on that same logic....... and to paraphrase your video........

CYCLONUS is obviously BOMBSHELL and the other seeker became his double [armada].......there is no reason this should be contested because it should be just as clear to the audience who's who as it is with scourge"

if its obvious that TC became Scourge because he was upfront, the its just as obvious that BS became Cyclonus because he was upfront.The only differences is that in the first scene 3 characters were reformatted, in the second scene, 2 characters were reformatted.But in both cases, 1 character was singled out to be the upfront targeted/named character.

spark, lazor core.........what difference does the name make?
the concept for what became a spark was not completely un-heard of in the days of g1.

 

I prefer it to be Skywarp (Cyclonus) and Thundercracker (Scourge) with the Insecticon clones for the sweeps.

I think it would make sense from a story perspective (individual robots for individuals, and Insecticon clones for Sweep clones), and also from a toy perspective (Scourge and Cyclonus were shown with the seekers in the promotional flyers and sold in place of Skywarp and Scourge).


But when I watch the movie, the scene looks to me that Skywarp is The Armada and the Insecticon clone is Cyclonus.

And considering that Megatron was very close to death by the time they arrived at Unicron, I'd think the other, weaker Decepticons would've been already died by that time. And in that case, they're all just lifeless shells anyway.

Hm, I don't know. I can see something from Thundercracker in Scourge.

Thundercracker (according to his bio) was unsure of the Decepticon cause and needed convincing by his peers.

Scourge is loyal according to his bio, but in the cartoon he, compared to the others of Galvatron's Elite Guard, seems less willing to blindly obey Galvatron's commands, sometimes raises questions and one time even openly rebelled.

Not exactly the same, but I can see something of Thundercracker in Scourge.

Skywarp and the others? nada.

 

For Rumble, I was just showing a clip of him for humor, not for anything else.

I was moreso trying to describe the scene as is. Just by that logic, then yes, Bombshell became Cyclonus. But I still prefer the loyal jet over the untrustworthy bug.

 

I get the feeling that when they were making Cyclonus's personality (Scourge's as well) during season three, they didn't base the characters's personalities off of anyone's. I think in their minds they were making new characters. This could be why we see a grave for Thundercracker in the one episode. They probably weren't even aware yet that Thundercracker was going to be depicted as turning into Scourge.

That being the case, it's probably easiest to think that Unicron reprogrammed Thundercracker, Skywarp, and the Insecticons's personalities the same way that Megatron did for Rhinox, Silverbolt, and Waspinator in Beast Machines. Same sparks, but with new personas.

 

i was speaking from the cartoons point of view alone.

toy bios and the shows didnt offen match up well

ok, but on that "loyal jet" aspect.

ive noticed that recently many go with that, but Skywarp did not show any great pertinacity for loyalty.The only thing anyone can really hang their hats on was his waking of megatron first in mtmte part 1.

nothing else that showes strong lolyalty
