Would anyone like a TF show set at sea like One Piece?

Wait. Do you mean... It's a conspiracy ? They lie to us ?
    Oh noes.
Seriously, no point at all to believe it's not true. However, it will take some 10 years more to end, yes.
Oda knows the end. He just doesn't know how to go straight to it...
Personaly, I'm glad. Oh and Shuiesha/TOEI too, that's for sure. The more they can milk it...

There... are some similarities, yes. A journey onboard with life's wounded caracteres finding peace and who they are while being together.
With awful dramas mix with constant laughs, while easily exploring social issues without becoming too hard preachy about it.

    True.

They differ in many other regards, -the narrative one for a big instance- but yes, you could say that without being wrong.

And how cool is that ?

It could be a lot of fun, and a nice opportunity to see aquatic alt-modes in full force.

Sure, why not? It'd be fun. Take it off Earth, and set it on a Water Planet that is mostly ocean with scattered islands. Make it feel like a sci-fi robot-infuse Porco Rosso. Add in some indigenous life forms and sea monsters.

As others have said, make Seaspray part of the main cast. Bring in a few other traditionally water-based TF's, and re-imagine a few to have aquatic-friendly alt modes. Take a plane TF or two and turn them into seaplanes with pontoons. Take a few and make them submarines.

This also seems as good a place as any to plug an idea I've been trying to push for years... that of re-imagining the Seacons as vehicular Transformers with no humanoid modes, who transform from sea monsters to sea vehicles. It's even more appropriate now given RiD's approach to the animalistic Decepticons. Just build off that... make Seawing a ray-monster who transforms into a seaplane, Overbite a giant shark that turns into a submarine, Skalor a fish-monster that turns into a tug-boat, Snaptrap a Gamera-esque turtle monster that turns into an amphibious armored vehicle, etc.

Okay, down off my Seacon soap box now... :)

Yes and no? Not necessarily like One-Piece, but a pirate Transformers show, sea or not, would be amazing.

I could do with a Miami Vice-style show with Seaspray and Broadside. Ooh, maybe they could have it set in the Islands to make it all connect!

    Yes, I'm serious.

    pretty much this.

I wouldnt want TF Waterworld to be the entire series, but i could stand for it being a setting for something bigger.

a good friend of mine once had an idea for a Cybertron Style series featuring colony worlds. and in it the Main cast would travel from world to world and adapt appropriate alt forms.

    take Optimus for example:
on earth he'd be a realistic cab over engine semi truck.
on Animatros/Eukaris he'd adapt a beast mode (most likely a gorilla)
on Velocitron he'd be a racing truck alt mode similar to engon rodimus
on Gigantion he'd have a trailer towing construction equipment which e'd combine with to stand on even footing with Gigantions
on Waterworld he'd be an amphibious Truck, the kind you see taking tourists on "Duck Tours"

Only if Depth Charge makes an appearance, he would be the loveable hard jerk type of character, similar to MTMTE's Cyclonus. Broadside can be used as their ship, and we definitely need Sharkticons, maybe even have a few as pets. :D

No thanks. I prefer the post-war story and for the story to be taking place on Cybertron, and only rarely on the Earth when it's ground and Ariel battles.
Plus, One Piece is just awful.

This discussion feels strange now, given the recent revelations about TF PRIME (it was meant to feature the pirate Thundertron and his crew the Star Seekers).

But it came close to happening, and some concepts about it sounded really cool.

I'd love to have seen Optimus and Autobots sea fight with the use of surfboards, like this G1 gem:

I will always lament the loss of the Star Seekers and the original proposal for Season 3.
