I'd love to see an episode where the Rescuebots finally learns that Cybertron, after all this time being on the dark, has been restored then get conflicted whether to stay with the Burns or head on home then you get all this sort of emotional issues throughout the episode being that they've pretty much already become family.

That would be an awesome episode.

Or maybe the Burns for vacation & by Optimus invitation got to take a vacation on Cybertron.

Me too! Just a thought wouldn't Boulder's engineering skills have been more useful on Cybertron while it was being rebuilt than on Earth?

To be honest, Cybertron could very likely be emotionally traumatizing for them.

Remember, they're from the age of exploration. They missed the plagues, the closing down of the space bridges and the loss of the colonies (The Age of Rust), the caste systems emergence, the rebellion(s), the great wars, and the Exodus.

The planet was left dead, unable to support life with some rare exceptions. There isn't even a good analogy because we can't compare to losing a network of planets including our home to a war we missed. The closest I can think of is someone is in a coma and misses WWI and WWII and is a native of Hiroshima, but even that is grossly inept.

Even beyond the loss, rebuilding wouldn't have been an easy task. Chernobyl workers (Even in the city) are strictly limited as to how much time they can spend there, not because of the radiation, but because of the psychological toll it takes on you. There was a documentary maker who actually made a short video about all the weird places his mind went because of his time spent there. That's from someone who had no attachments and had never been there before, shooting a film about Uranium. Now imagine how it would be to see the ruins of your home, homes of your friends, where you used to work, etc.

RID is glossing over that enormous cost because it's a kids cartoon show and they don't need to see the laborious rebuilding effort and the weight that would drive workers to suicide, along with the factionalism and issues with government and so forth.

Then there's a general compatibility issue. At this point, the bots are largely a different species. Again, no analogy is apt, but everyone else experienced a genocidal war that destroyed their home planet that lasted for an unknown amount of time (Thousands to millions of Years). There's an old saying, "In war, there is no such thing as an unwounded soldier." And that's here on Earth with our comparatively day long Wars. Even those who didn't directly fight had shared experiences of the Exodus, or seeing the fighting. Those who fought have been changed by the fight. Emotionally, mentally, or physically. Our Rescue Bots have never taken a life, fled and watched their friends die or stay being to murder. They've never seen squadrons attack a city or watch entire continents glow with heat. We can't even properly imagine what a planetary War looks like, where every city is under siege to some degree, where a significant percentage of the global population die in such a tiny frame of time.

The Rescue Bots would have none of that experience, they probably couldn't even to begin to understand that while every other bot lived through it. Bumblebee may carry his injuries well (and he would no matter what, kids cartoon), but that wouldn't mean the rest of the population does. From what we can gather, the government on Cybertron is certainly different. Bumblebee is a low ranking street police officer, Ratchet chose exile, etc. So even after the planet is rebuilt, the society probably wouldn't be all that warm to them, or even feel like the one they left; there'd still be a massive disconnect to every other citizen on the planet. There's actually a psychological syndrome here on Earth, where Japanese Tourists shut down when they're in France, called Paris Syndrome (and there are other versions of it, but I think Paris works best here), because of culture shock (around 20 Japanese citizens have to be specially sent home because of it every year). There are several factors, but the cultural difference (the Cybertron they left behind to the one that exists now), and the shattering of their idealized image of Cybertron would definitely come into play. Paris Syndrome is for someone wanting to visit who's never been. Imagine the more intense shock for someone who has been there and is wanting to return to experience such a jolt? It could offline the bots.

In short, they're far better off missing the world they left behind because of their stasis then to see what has happened to it since; in their case it really is a You can't go home again.

Great points. But i guess i was thinking down the line, in the future, when Cybertron is completely and fully restored and revived. basically kind of like Hiroshima, years after the nuclear bombings, it is now a fluorishing city once again. Of course, the pain would not go away and it is always going to be remembered. But, again, a complete and restored Cybertron would be an interesting place to go.

Incidentally, i've been thinking perhaps, before the civil war, i was just thinking that Cybertron is frequently visited by tourists from other worlds/civilizations. I guess, before the war, being an open and advanced society, tourists of all stripes and kinds (greys, reptilians, carbon-based, silicon-based, other robotic beings, etc.) have visited Cybertron and contributed towards Cybertron being a dynamic civilization and they get to mingle with Cybertronians.

I could see other carbon-based life (perhaps Nebulons, and other species/races) going to vacation trips to Cybertron and enjoying the countless land marks and tourist spots Cybertron has to offer. Would be interesting to see what Six Lasers looks like on a fully restored Cybertron, or Sea of Rust, Kaon with its gladiatorial matches, other great Cybertronian landmarks.

Camp Cody was so much fun!

I have to admit, I really enjoy Blades episodes, he must be so much fun to write due to that mixture of pop references, naivete, and enthusiasm.

Honestly I only had one problem with the episode and that was in the cold open; due to the nature of a zip line, it's really difficult to lose all your momentum and stop, impossible if it's well designed.

I like that Cody stuck with Blades and then the way Graham was brought into the episode and the resultant story that moved without lingering too long on the mysteries to bring about a strong finish.

    Great episode!

All in all, I love Rescuebots even better post- them acting like machines because they have to hide from humans.

I love it now they're able to communicate and interact with the citizens of Griffin Rock freely.

And don't the rose of this episode remind one of the rose in Disney's "Beauty and the Beat" animated movie. Lol.

    Off my memory:

Basically just as the episode synopsis: the Rescuebot team finds out the Griffin spruce trees have been dying and falling down on their own in the woods. Eventually, they find out that the culprit are spider mites that have been chewing on the trees and made them weaker. The spider mites seem to be coming from a rose-like flower and since the creatures seem to be luminescent, it looks like the flowers are emitting a glow, making them look like out of fairy tale stories. Then at the end of the episode, one of the pictures they have taken, some kind of a gnome or dwarf makes a photo-bomb upon closer inspection.

That was such a fun episode! It really showed how the quality of the animation improved.

I liked how the resolutions played on fairytales. The atmosphere in middle of the episode made you think that something supernatural is about to happen :)

Highlights of the episode: Blades and bats and 'Eaten by a space monster'. :lol

Nicely titled (and written) when you consider they included almost every fairy tale they could think of in the 22 minutes of episode air time they had.

    :lol

Well, just to re-iterate with what I said prior.

I quite enjoyed this episode! I loved the way they mixed the groups and split the teams. The tons of references to fairy tales, the unraveling of the story, etc.

Though what surprised me most was how they straddled the line between mysticism and science with the fairy's.

Yeah, I didn't say this earlier because I knew they'd go POOF... :)

But... I think they should have a Mrs. Needlemeyer episode... she's a fountain of GRI history and folklore... Tales from Mrs. Needlemeyer could also include some of the Burns' ancestors too.

    They meant
    Bumblebee instead of Sideswipe???

Edit: Nope, the Need for Speed hasn't aired.

    That figure of
    Sideswipe
we got back in Toy Fair 2016 was convincing enough. and plus the Zap2It synopsis says an "Unexpected visitor comes to Griffin Rock and a Mysterious criminal." Perhaps a carjacking took place and SPOILER couldn't do anything about it due to the whole "Robots in disguise" shtick. I dunno, we shall see what happens in the episode.
