Chase is the pun-master, holy. I think I groaned at the fowl play one, lol.
I liked Quickshadow's voice and design, and as I see it, perhaps Heatwave's gonna feel his authority undermined?

Last season we got someone from the Rescue Bots' future who hinted at future adventures and the magnificence of Heatwave, now we have a mysterious bad ass character played by Alex kingston. This is starting to give MTMTE a run for it's money for TF series most like Doctor Who. Thankfully RB just has similar elements, not in-your-face references.

The episode was pretty enjoyable. River So... Er, Quickshadow was pretty cool. She makes a pretty bad-ass and mysterious secret agent. It's just a pity that all of her dialog was shown in the preview. The story about the Rescue Bots trying to get used to being known, and Frankie getting used to her baby sister were decent stories, although the former didn't go anywhere, since Quickshadow kept stealing their rescues. It makes me wonder if this going to be an ongoing story.

I didn't mention this last time, but it's pretty cool that the Rescue Bots now have a ground bridge. Speaking of which, there were a lot of references, such as lobbing balls and Wreckers.

    Overall, a decent episode.

Fairly decent ep, but I have to say I wasn't impressed with the OP name dropping by QS... she's a special agent, she's given this mission by OP and she's been working alone as instructed by OP... blah, blah, blah.

Toward the end of the ep when she finally attempts to blend and accepts she could work with the team, that was a little better. Gonna hold out of feeling all warm and fuzzy about this one..... maybe later.

So considering that some years have passed between season 3 and 4 do people now believe that this series is not in the same continuity as Prime/RID2?

Lets go over this again. The creators said that each season of this series was suppose to take place at the same time as a corresponding season of Prime. This would mean that season 4 takes place after the events of Predacons Rising and Optimus Prime is still alive so it can't be happening at the same time as season 1 of RID.

We don't really know how much time has passed between Prime and RID but we can kind of tell how much time has passed between season 3 and 4 of Rescue Bots. Cody and Frankie have grown up some. It doesn't look like either of them can drive yet but they do seem to be taller and to have hit puberty some time between seasons. I'd guess at most five years has passed between seasons. (Though TFWiki says three years have passed I don't recall them ever giving a specific time frame.) Their ages were confirmed to be 10 before but they are teenagers now.

There's also the fact that at some point between seasons Doc. Greene and Anna Baranova got married and had CeCe. We never got to see the wedding or the pregnancy. It doesn't surprise me that they got together but with her already showing signs of old age it does surprise me that they were able to conceive a child. (Women can't get pregnant after menopause.)

I'm pretty sure they didn't show the pregnancy and ignored her age because this show is targeted at 4 year olds... but they probably shouldn't of introduced a baby in the first place if they didn't want to teach this subject. Kids are going to notice the sudden appearance of Frankie's baby sister who didn't exist before now and ask the question "where do babies come from" to their parents.

Anyway... with that out of the way... a lot of people have already been declaring this the longest running Transformers series. Technically we still have till May 7th before that's officially true. May 7th is when episode 4 airs. G1 had four seasons as well but season 4 only consisted of the three part Rebirth episodes. This means that with only three episodes of Rescue Bots season 4 they're tied as the longest running cartoons. Once we get a fourth episode of the season then Rescue Bots officially becomes our longest running cartoon... and it's aimed at preschool kids... why can't we get a more mature cartoon to run this long?

I wish we got a new series that focuses on Blurr and Salvage as the main characters so that this wouldn't be our longest running series and we could focus on some new characters instead of the same four bots. I wouldn't mind getting them to guest star every once in a while but I'm kind of tired of these guys.

Well, as for episodes, Rescue Bots is at 81. RB has been consistently 26 episodes in each of the previous seasons (3 currently) going for the same here in the 4th season. G1 has 98 (103 counting the Movie as episodes in the obscured Season 5 being its the only "new" episodes in 1988). G1 was inconsistent with episode counts getting a 16 episode 1st season, a walloping 49 in the 2nd season, 30 in season 3 and only 3 episodes in the 4th and final one.

Season 5 isn't a real thing. Generation 1 ends with the rebirth. Anything after that is part of Generation 2. Which in most cases G2 was actually pretty good but for the cartoon series it was just G1 rebroadcast with new bumpers.

This being said... since Rescue Bots doesn't have a movie tie in like G1 I will go ahead an count that as 5 episodes (of season 3) since it was split into five episodes and shown that way. You are right that Rescue Bots has consistently had 26 episodes every season while G1 did not.

With this way of counting only actually new episodes on a 1to1 basis. Episode 26 of G1 is actually Season 2 Episode 10 "Enter the Nightbird". Season 2 Episode 36 "Auto-Bop" would even out with the end of season 2 for Rescue Bots. Counting the movie as five episodes this brings us to Season 3 Episode 8 "Dark Awakening" as the tie for the end of Season 3 of Rescue Bots. And there's still 25 episodes left for G1. So technically by this count, if Rescue Bots does deliver another 26 episodes it's only that very last episode that will cause them to bypass G1 as the longest series.

While counting seasons because G1 season 4 was only three episodes it seemed like they had bypassed G1 the moment they made a fourth episode. However I didn't take into consideration that the episode count for the first three seasons wasn't identical. So yeah, Season 4 Episode 26 of Rescue Bots is when they officially become the longest running Transformers cartoon.

By the Way... Rescue Bots also had an issue with rebroadcasting old episodes as new ones. Season 3, according to the program guide and my DVR, also included several rebroadcasted episodes from season 2. Pretty much everything after Chief Woodrow rebroadcasted during a season 3 hiatus has ended up with the wrong episode number attached to it. Several episodes from Season 2 were rebroadcasted as season 3 episodes starting with that one which threw off the episode count for the entire season. So yeah, if you want to count the repeats being labeled wrong as new episodes like in Generation 1, then season 3 of Rescue Bots actually has about 31 episodes rather than 26. But if you're only counting actual new episodes then as I said above season 5 doesn't count.

G1's Season 5 wasn't G2, in fact it's at least 4-5 years prior as a dedicated recap year with Optimus Prime and Tommy Kennedy discussing the select episodes they cover in brief. As far as RB rebroadcasting, it's more of a deliberate withholding. 2 second season episodes were held off of for select occasions. "The Riders of Midwinter" was set to air during the winter season and "Chief Woodrow" aired at a random other day, both in Season 3's timespan. Just means only 24 of the season 2 episodes were broadcast in that set season span, but the fact RB had different production studios the 1st 3 seasons (their logos at the end of the credits) makes them easy to spot.

Anyone else notice that Quickshadow's steering wheel is on the right side? She's the first transformer I've seen like that.

This is very much the early part of the setup for several future storyarcs.

It's amusing that they went with a whole James Bond theme for Quickshadow, from the Bond style leitmotif to British style right hand drive, to the Bond Car style gizmo's (The grapples and the tow bar magnet). Though I do wonder if she's really on the up and up. If this weren't a show aimed at young kids, I'd be more certain of it. I don't think she's a Decepticon or the like, but she may not entirely be who she says she is.

It's funny, I didn't expect the Rescue crackdown, but a heavier emphasis on repairing the damage that they caused themselves in more obvious ways now that the secret is out, like repairing the street.

CeCe isn't my cup of tea, that routine of the super smart baby getting herself into improbable trouble is a bit too "Mindy and Buttons" for my personal tastes.

On the other topic, I guess I'm one of the original six. Yay?

Considering she has a British accent, she's probably spent some time in the U.K. and scanned her vehicle mode there which would explain why her steering wheel is on the wrong side.

Also, X-Brawn's head actually does end up on the driver's side in vehicle mode. Being in the U.S. everyone thought it was weird that his head was on the passenger side but again, that series was based over seas so his head is actually on the driver's side for that part of the world. This also means that Quickshadow is not the first Transformer to be based on a foreign vehicle with the steering wheel on the opposite side. Though she may be the first who's actually based in the U.S.

It's what you can expect with vehicles that drive on the left side of the road. British and Australians do that. Good shoutout to her voice actress.

"Plus One" was another fun episode. Quickshadow came in revealing a past with a number of prior names. She showed her orders from Optimus to help the Bots focus as individuals. Pretty funny moment with Cody asking if they could all get a ride with her and she replied "I barely know all of you." Good one, creative.

I loved that little moment with the confusion about the trunk/boot. XD We also call that boot in Australia. Just shows how British Quickshadow really is.

    EDIT: Also... Heatshadow... *hides*

Awww, she's gone already? I bet Blurr's gonna give her more problems to solve.
About the "real name" thing from the beginning of the episode, is her real name Mirage, by any chance? @.@

I may be in the minority, but I won't miss her, but I doubt we've seen the end of her, she'll have another episode or two in the future, or some monitor on screen time at least.

    Eh... not a fan.

Interesting with "Quickshadow"...wonder what her real name actually is...

Anyways, she wasn't bad. She unfortunately reminded me of Windblade in RiD starting out, but at least she didn't have the stupid "Sent by Primus" bs of Windblade. Toward the end of the ep, she got better tho. Hopefully in future eps I'll like her more.

Quickshadow is her real name. She used covers until Optimus allowed her to reveal her real name to the Rescue Bots. Plus, Optimus calls her by her name, I doubt he would use a covername when assigning her a mission.

Does it have something to do with CeCe? If so... awwww! I hope we get more soft side from Heatwave!
