I'm PPProductions and I have been a Transformers fan since the first movie came out. When it first came out, I felt like it was the greatest movie ever made. Then I got older...

But what really cemented my love for Transformers was Animated. To this day I still think that Animated is the best Transformers show. The writing, the characters, the story, I could have a 2 hour discussion on why Animated is so great.

But there is one Transformers show that everyone talks about. One that is hailed and praised as being the best one. Yeah...Beast Wars.

So here I am, going through every episode of Beast Wars and listing down my thoughts in the style of CaptainSlayer's blog where he does the exact same thing but with G1. If people like this, I will continue. If people call me a vile, disgusting, idea stealer; I'll stop.

I have no idea what happens in Beast Wars, I know literally nothing about it other than they turn into animals, it is set on prehistoric Earth and it is G1 continuation. So this should be fun.

Quick background on me before I begin: I am a 15 year old male. I have seen G1, Animated and Prime beginning to end. And that is all I have to say...

S1:E1 - Beast Wars part 1 - 26/5/15

Why do I have the feeling that this intro spoils the first episode?

I'm getting A New Hope vibe from this...

Either he was talking about a rupture in the ship, or that guy is called Rupture.

Should have killed them when you had the chance Decepticon antagonist. Now you're falling to Earth. You really are a giddy aunt.

I really think that is David Kaye.

The Autobots have landed in the Haunted Wasteland from Ocarina Of Time.

Meanwhile the Decepticons have landed in Death Mountain.

Wait... too much Energon will damage their robot forms?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't Cybertron pretty much all Energon?

Was that Wasp?

Ok this is set after the Dinosaurs got wiped out. Dissapointed.

A Gorilla, a Rat and a Rhino chilling together? Ok then.

How does the Cheetah what a Cheetah is?

Megatron is a purple Dinosaur voiced by David Kaye (I think). I can dig it.

Velociraptor says he's taking over. Of course he is.

Ok that transformations looked awesome.

Scorponok is in this. Great.

Dinobot just did the best face.

So we got a Scorpion, a Pterodactyl, a Wasp (Wasp I assume) and a Spider (Blackarachnia?)

This soundtrack... so much metal...

The golden disk gives the location of an Energon source. Noting this down so I don't forget.

Decepticons are called Predacons. Got it.

Liking some of this banter between them.

Cheetor just jumped out of the ship. But what is Rhinox doing in the background?

Cheetor just ran off. I feel like I'm gonna hate him.

Optimus just got shot out of the sky by Megs while trying to save Cheetor.

Moral of the story: Cheetor causes everyone to die. Let him die.

Optimus saved Cheetor. Damn.

I like how Rhinox is just holding Rattrap by the neck so he'll shoot.

Oh my god that uphill run again.

Something is happening with Megs.

Everything is going to hell.

So if they stay in their robot modes too long, they start dying. Ok.

Rattrap is getting told by Optimus.

Dinobot just showed up after his journey through the sky,

Dinobot is really forward about these things.

"I wish to join your group. As leader."

Optimus Primal. I...don't have an opinion.

Fight on a narrow bridge over lava. Oh boy.



And that is the first episode done. It was...OK. I like the CGI. Yeah it's outdated, but it has a certain charm to it.

I'll episode 2 in a few hours if I get a good response to this. I read in another thread that season 1 is kind of naff. So...yeah.


S1:E2 - Beast Wars part 2 - 27/5/15

I really liked that episode. I had more fun watching it than the first.

That episode was alright. It had some good character moments. I still think the best one so far is episode 2 though.

That episode was pretty decent. I don't really feel like I can comment much on these early episodes since the plot hasn't really been moving much.

I'm only 6 episodes in and this intro is starting to get on my nerves

Terrorsaur just dive bombed an Eagle

I think Terrorsaur is starting to become my favorite Predacon

He just found a floating mountain/volcano

It's full of Energon

He just turned into robot mode

He's fucked

He got electrocuted by Energon and it made him more powerful...

Hey, did anyone else here see Transformers and Transformers Revenge Of The Fallen?

Remember how the Allspark killed Megatron in the first movie?

And then in the second movie it brought him back to life?

So too much Energon can kill them. But they need Energon to survive

So they take small quantities of Energon?

So was that in the middle or something?

Not too much and not too little?

But still enough to make him powerful?

Yeah...

Disclaimer: I'm not saying that these are necessarily plot holes. I'm sure there is an explanation to all this.

Anyway, back to Beast Wars

Let's just jump right in

I'm gonna try something different with this post to make it a little more interesting

On the metal world of Cybertron there is a rockin robot race

Two warring tribes are laying waste to a once great place

In Cybertron's orbit, a voice speaks of the beast wars

They're sending out probes to find Primal. Amongst the grassy moors

Meanwhile, on the planet that might be Earth. Cheetor is racing the others back to the ship

Rattrap is racing against Cheetor now. What a piece of shit

Primal is using his boosters to win this race

Cheetor just got hit in the face

Meanwhile, my man Rhinox is doing stuff

The scanners are picking up space fluff

I like how Rattrap said "Yes" so loud that it made Cheetor jump

"I'm gonna give it a Maximal try" What the crump?

There is a chance that they might be able to get home

But Dinobot might be alone (Does that count?)

Tigatron is back

Here comes Waspinator, talking slack

Tigatron always has to announce himself whenever he's about to shoot a Pred

Welp, Waspinator is dead

Tarantulus just came out of nowhere

He's invented something that...he made in his lair? (I got nothing)

"Dinoboob"

Dinobot's getting nervous about the Maximals coming. I think if he went to Cybertron, he would be a rube. (This is getting harder)

Tarantulus made a thing that won't allow them to transform

He's gotten Tigatron and Cheetor. Is this a reform?

Ok, so this is in the solar system so I'm gonna assume that the planet they are on is Earth even though some people have pointed out that this isn't Earth.

And...I'm done. I've got nothing.

Scorponok just gave Terrorsaur a little ball thing

He put it in his mouth

Would be a shame if he swallowed it by accident

Rattrap's hand just clipped through his shoulder

BlackArachnia just kicked Dinobot's ass

And she just got shot by Rattrap

I think this is the episode that has actually made me really like this show. Before I felt that it was kind of on the level on Animated, but now I don't know what to think.

S1:E14 - Double Dinobot - 13/6/15

I wonder what this episode will be about judging by the title

Watching this action scene, it makes me question why people dislike any Transformers show when it is goofy

At it's core Transformers is a pretty silly concept. With Prime, they focused more on the serious aspect than the goofy.

It kind of failed in this way. They made everything so serious that it started to become silly.

I mean Animated had a nice balance between the serious and goofy, but the goofy was much more prominent.

It's kind of the reason I like Animated so much. It didn't take itself too seriously.

I should get back to the show.

S1:E19 - Call Of The Wild - 23/6/15

So with this episode I'm going to try and remain absolutely focused since people keep telling me that I keep missing things

Never before has my signature been so relevant

Bob Forward writes a lot of these

Cheetor is doing things

He's found a deer

He's going for it

And he just ran into lava

I love how Dinobot just picks up Cheetor like that

Running right at them is a good tactic

And here come the Maximals

This action scene is really entertaining

Preds are retreating

And Airazor has brought the shield back

That ending was a lot to take in.

I really liked that episode. It was probably the most entertaining one so far in terms of action and plot.

The whole of season 1 has had it's ups and downs but overall, I'd give it and 7 or 8 or 9 out of 10 (I can't make my mind up)

If I could rate the Transformers shows I have watched, I'd rate them something like this:
