What did you do between G1 and G2 if you were a fan in America back then?

Played on the original Transformers MUSH.

    Talked on alt.toys.transformers.

Collected G1 toys I missed before.

I was in that 'too old for toys' high school/college phase.

Nothing. Was out of toys at the time so I missed the end of G1 and most of G2. The only G2 things I got when they were out were Megatron, Jazz, Snarl & Slag. The last 3 just because I didn't have the G1 versions of them.

I remember as a kid, I never thought I'd see Transformers again. I still played with the toys when the mood hit. But as a kid, I switched focus to the Ninja Turtles mostly.

I got into TMNT but i would purchase what ever transformers I could find in stores with my allowance and watch the fhe video's, we owned TFTM on VHS :D . However, I was born in the year of the transformer (1984) so I lucky started with G1 but didn't get to see season 2 until G2 aired and finally season 3 after beast wars completed. I think because I missed out on the original cartoon and toy run it only made me love and appreciate transformers even more.

I lost interest in TFs by '88 in 4th or 5th grade. Loved the '87 toys but without the cartoon I started drifting away. Pretenders were kinda the nail in the coffin for me. I got into Dino Riders, Ghostbusters, and TMNT before moving on from toys and getting into comic books in middle school. Like most people, I "grew up" and grew out of toys. Just didn't feel right. So I didn't care about G2 or Beast Wars at all. Unlike most people, though, I got back into TFs as an adult thanks to the '07 flick.

I did nothing in America between 90-92, I was in Canada :p

Nintendo (a lot!), TMNT, Batman: TAS, and the various Disney cartoons like Darkwing Duck, TailSpin, Rescue Rangers.

Gangbanged. Had to stuff my love for G1/TFs/comics and the like deep down inside. There was no place for that stuff within the circle of company I fell in with, just hard living in rough areas and bad decisions. Hoped someday if I made it out alive that the little hidden kid within me would be able to again enjoy these things in a much better lifestyle. Thank God those dayz are done!

Read the comics, collected what scraps of g1 I could find at garage sales, played with other toys, etc. It was only like two or three years before g2 started being promoted.

I moved onto Anime in 87.... but still collected a little bit from each line until G1 ended. When G2 came around I was interested to see what it was. Had a look and was disapointed to see it was mostly old g1 in wonky colors. I was pretty tempted to get Optimus Prime, but I decided against it. Didn't get a single Transformer again until Beast Wars came out.

i was still collecting transformers to be honest. i never watched the cartoon until g2.

but i purchased many of the toys. and after the g1 era toys stopped, i started looking for them in thrift stores. something i still do today. although, modern toys has made it much harder to do so. as g1 toys tend to stay intact. and have all their limbs. be a full toy.

from beast wars on, except maybe the unicron trilogy, are very difficult to find as a full toy. limbs are often missing. heads tend to be gone on movie toys. i've seen many optimus primes without heads.

unicron trilogy seems to be the only line since g2 that seems to stay intact. even without the accessories, they are still full toys. well usually. there are exceptions.

but that is what i did during g1 and g2. what i watched was more like disney afternoon, occasionally watched TMNT. but not very often. played a lot of dos games. and atari 2600. watched the 60's batman series that was on all the time. and sometimes that really weird live action winnie the pooh series. lol
