Welcome to 1988, advertising figures for a dying toyline was a chore.

Pretty much say anything to get the kids to want the toy.

As you can see, the animated was decent, but it wasn't in any North American episode.

At least that kid got to play with it before anyone else.

 

Sounds like an awesome family relation that merits a place in a show or comic.

Someone actually formed a theory that this was the result of Shockwave trying to replicate Sixshot. Didn't work out as well as he hoped.

 

This is one of those storylines that has so much potential but there's like no material on it heck Quickswitch hasn't even appeared in any fiction has he?

 

I want to say that his vehicle form showed up as a vehicle in one of the IDW/DW comics.

 

This will never amount to anything. :/

Well that's... odd. I do like the idea that only Decepticons have six changer tech. It supports the idea that the G1 'Cons had the technological advantage, what with their flight, and all their combiners.

Also, I'm surprised that I actually know who Quickswitch is.

I find the Cons having the tech advantage a bit odd. I mean, obviously, they have a bunch of cool advancements, and they do have some good scientists, but on the Autobot side? You've got Perceptor and Wheeljack for starters.


Personally I chalk the 'Con advantage in things like combination and number of forms to be more on their willingness to experiment on themselves.

 

Agreed. I remember watching the commercial again in the late 90s when I started collecting again. I tried to Yahoo and Infoseek (remember that search engine?) to find more details, maybe in the tech specs, but nope, nada. I would love for the relationship to be expanded upon, but probably more as a younger/long lost brother.

Nah I'd like them to still be Father/Son we rarely have those relations in Transformers.

I mean a Sleak Decepticon Ninja Consultant with a Blocky Autobot Soldier for a son just sounds hilarious yet interesting.

It's actually a fairly cool idea for a backstory. I'd not mind seeing it taken forward somehow. Maybe use Sixknight though - his attitude was very close to Sixshot
