I think it's the only time I've almost seen a HUG from Optimus to anybody.

Would have been cool if they did the whole 'bro hug' thingy, pats on the back and all...:lol

Why is Servo not listed under Autobots for this episode? He is technically an Autobot but he's listed as "Other". Also on the Rescue Bots main page he's not listed at all. That's like not listing G1 Ravage as a Decepticon. I don't really like the design but he still deserves to be credited properly. Servo wears an Autobot insignia, he is from Cybertron, there for he's Autobot.

Anyway... onto the main character of the episode... This marks Micheal Bell's first return to a Transformers cartoon since G1.

I had to look this up and it turns out I was entirely wrong in thinking that High Tide was just a repaint/retool of Heatwave. The aquatic vehicle modes are very similar but the front of Heatwave's boat mode actually forms the upper body while the rear of High Tide's submarine forms his upper body. The toys do appear to be closer to the same size unlike the cartoon where High Tide is much taller... and just to clarify I am talking about the main robot not his battle ship.

Moving onto the battle ship... I thought he was just wearing it as power up armor but apparently High Tide is actually a Headmaster with two different bodies. He could still send the submarine out as a drone while inside the battle ship. Not really sure exactly how this works but on the toy there is a little compartment you can put the main robot into that lifts him up into the command area just like in the show. But while High Tide robot head was still visible in the command area his submarine mode was pulled out from under the battle ship. It's like a magic trick, I have no idea what's going on inside the toy to make that happen but damn that is cool. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=whG2-CP1o9Q

I've watched that video a couple times and I think I might have an idea about what is actually going on. I think the High Tide head on the Battle Ship is a false head. The design is similar to the cockpit section on the main robot but he still has a cockpit when you release the submarine. I don't think the head was even meant to stay deployed when he pushed down on the lever as he was having some issues working the toy. Though I'm still not sure how he came out in vehicle mode when he was in robot mode when he went in.

Something else I'm curious about... does the Battle Ship toy actually have a robot mode? I haven't seen any pictures of it and all the gimmicks seem to be for making it a play set. I can't image how a simplified toy line like this would manage to have something which is designed to come apart as a play set also be transformable. Is that only for the cartoon?

Speaking of which this is a cartoon thread and I kind of went off track there talking about toys for a bit. The battle ship in the cartoon is far more impressive as the toy doesn't look big enough to hold High Tide and all four Rescue Bots. Also that robot mode looks suspiciously like Omega Supreme. Not colored correctly but very similar design with the claws and the glass face. Maybe Omega Sentinel?

Saber... as for Servo...that's on TFWiki.com, and not controlled by TFW... abates might have set that one up if you want to ask him.

I know you guys don't control TFWiki. That question wasn't really directed at the staff here, just anyone in general who might know the answer.

That's why I suggested abates... he does most of the Rescue Bots posts on TFWiki.

I just noticed that Servo has been added under Autobots on the main Rescue Bots page. Maybe he's already noticed my post. I still messaged him anyway because the episode page hasn't been changed.
