So, I know that human allies/kid sidekicks/what-have-you are pretty disliked among the fandom. There's no illusions there. But if you had to choose one group of human allies, who would it be, and why?

Personally, I'm most fond of the characters from Prime, if only because they bring a varied set of skills and personalities to the table. Sure, three of them are kids, but one of those kids is a computer genius, one is thoughtful and responsible enough to be trusted with an important Cybertronian relic, and one is... impulsive enough to kickstart the plot sometimes, and at the same time determined enough to become the second human in the franchise to join the Wreckers. Plus, we have the adults, one of whom is both a mother and nurse (to the chagrin of Miko), the other a surprisingly competent and reasonable government agent who doesn't take any scrap.

A very close second would be the Burns family from Rescue Bots, mostly due to the fact that they're all trained professionals (yes, even Cody, to some extent) who work alongside the 'Bots and compliment each other's skillsets well.

Well, who else wants to chime in?

EDIT: Poll added, and I know I missed a lot of characters (and a number of series, particularly the Japanese ones), so feel free to clarify.

Agent Fowler is da Bomb! He actually fights badguys and is like the only government dude who supports the Bot's. (In Prime) Plus, like you said, he doesn't take scrap.

Simmons and Dutch are hilarious! "Tell Megatron, let's tango!" Plus Dutch has mad fighting and computer skills.

Lennox and Epps are awesome, especially in TF1 with Lennox fighting to see his daughter again and I like Epps being retired in 3.

I actually voted for the film trilogy here. The different personalities brought the movie to life which I also felt complimented our TFs.

I chose prime, because jack was actually relatable and not as annoying as most humans are. I'd be happy if we get a Transformers series that doesn't have humans, though.

I WOULD have voted NEST since they make the most sense and I actually enjoyed what I saw of them. But the poll lumps them in with Sam and the eye candies so no go there.

Second best I suppose would be Prime. They at least tried to keep the humans out of danger for the most part.

Is there a reason Age of Extinction's cast is separate from the original Trilogy's cast? Technically it's the exact same continuity and timeline so both human groups should count.

My vote goes to Tyran and NEST with the Prime group as a close second.

Agent Fowler is my all time fav.

So I'll vote Prime if only because of him.

    Went with Cybertron.

BUT I'm gonna say that Fred from Armada is the greatest human character to ever grace us with his presence.

I'm going to go with Sari from Animated.

Voted AOE mainly for Cade. But I also thought Lennox, Epps, Simmons and the Prime humans were great too.

NEST as a group in and of themselves are pretty much top-tier, but since I was trying to keep it grouped by continuity, there was some give and take. That said...

Technically, so are the groups from the Unicron Trilogy (or at least Armada and Energon, depending on your point of view), but considering that the AoE human cast has nearly no connection to the 07-DOTM cast, with the tone of the film (attempting to be) different from the previous trilogy, I thought it was fair to separate them. After all, a lot of the criticisms of the trilogy's humans were silenced by Cade's part in AoE.

She thought she was human through most of Animated, and still acted in the role of the 'human sidekick' throughout Season 3, even when her role expanded. Still counts.

No contest. The Prime humans. The reasons are obvious.
