Back around 1988 I purchased a single episode VHS cassette titled Demolition Duel.Years later when I bought the Rhino DVDs I saw that the same episode was titled Trans-Europe Express. When I bought the VHS tape at the store there were others in the series, each with Headmasters era characters on the covers.Does anyone here remember or have any of these tapes and know about the episode name changes?

No, I've never had the tapes. Just the DVDs from Shout and Rhino

I don't know anything about the different names, but back in (I think) the early nineties I picked up some UK 'Kids Corner' VHS releases of the first series of the TF cartoon that featured screenshots from the 1986 movie on the case covers. Sometimes it seemed like the people putting these things out just stuck on any old bit of artwork they had lying around. Maybe it was a similar thing with your tapes.

I believe there were only a few VHS tapes released with uncommon titles. Perfect example is the UK release of Arrival From Cybertron is actually the 3 part More Than Meets The Eye. I think the companies who license to release videos don't necessarily do their homework on what they are licensing and thus come up with their own title and in some case, release a video with artwork and screen shots of episodes that aren't even on the release, like for instance the FHE release of Five Faces Of Darkness that has screen shots from The Rebirth on the back along with pre-movie characters and also has Targetmasters and Powermaster Prime gracing the cover......the only thing remotely relevant on that box art is the Quintesson.

and it shows, Arrival from Cybertron would have worked for Part 1 much better.
