Which do you like better? Both have roughly the same amount of members, both live in worlds swarming with enemies, both have "Human Decepticons". So, which team do you prefer?

(Mods, I put this in GD because I wasn't sure if it should go in movie or Prime, so I went here, please move if necessary.)

Prime might not have been to everyone's taste but they had the good graces to write character development that extended beyond putting on a silly voice and in my opinion short of IDW the best ratchet ever, so a prime easy win for me

I haven't seen any of the Bay movies, nor do I read comics or care about the TFP characters for the most part.

So I'm going to just say I like Animated Autobots more.

Team Prime, easy. Mostly for Ratchet.
The AOE Autobots were kind of unlikeable dickheads, they might've got more characterisation (or at least talked more) and screen-time, but if Crosshairs, Drift or Hound had died they sure as hell didn't do anything that would've made me miss them.

    Ummmmmmmm...

    Kind of neither.

I guess I might lean towards AOE, since the AOE team was not saddled with the unbelievably irritating TFP Wheeljack.

Easily Team Prime. Ratchet alone wins the vote. Plus, Arcee as the main character was great. Tho I admit OP and Bee could've used more screen time.

Unfortunately, I have to agree with the sentiment that the AOE 'Bots are ass holes.

Prime's only character I liked was Ratchet, while I loved Crosshairs, Hound and Drift. I give points for Prime for having some back story for their Bots (like Arcee and Bulk a tiny bit) but for me that means nothing when I never really liked them as characters, especially Arcee. I'm hoping we'll get some back story for the AoE Bots in the future.

Team Prime. The AoE Autobots had no personality.

That being said, Team Prime was basically Team Animated with a gender-swap on Prowl and a mute BB.

AOE purely because Optimus Prime was actual well-written, believable, and relatable character.

OMG AOE by a country mile.

    We have:

A traumitized, borderline unstable leader who's got some serious wartime PTSD buildup, anger issues and just seems to get fucked over by everyone he trusts time and time again, and each times takes it worse and worse. Seems to unleash his anger where it's best directed at least: at the bad guys. As a result, very rarely lets wrongs against him or his friends and family go unchallenged. Caution: do not fuck with. Is no stranger to the stresses that come from raising an adolescent.

A self-centered, mute child in a man's body with a fragile ego, putting on a cute face to hide his insecurities about himself and possibly even more if Drift is to be believed. Incredibly capable and deadly warrior who still finds time to get upset over his percieved inadequecies. Apparently was a handful growing up. May or may not like to dance.

A self-styled tactical/expert paratrooper loner who's more inclined to bail on a boring or unfavourable situation to do his own thing than help, and pulling hotshot moves to make himself look cool. (and succeeding) He doesn't give a shit about you or what you think. All he cares about it what makes him happy at that given moment. (and his boss) Thinks most everyone else is stupid. Would like to lead if his would-be subbordinates weren't a bunch of dysfunctional crazy people. Recently converted animal person.

Another loner, this time fat, severly psychotic, and about as at-home in a bloody battle as a turd is in a toilet. 40% guns and gun-related paraphernalia. Totally alright with his physical shortcomings, namely his fat ass, and fights literally tooth-and-nail, using anything and everything he's got if it means holding out that much longer. If anything in the world can bring him down, it's the death of a fellow Autobot, but other than that is pretty damn impossible to break. Also may or may not like to dance. (is not good at it)

And yet another loner, probably the most balanced and calm of the group, but is so trained and deadly in his art his first instinct is to hack and slash whatever's advancing on him. Yet still he takes a moment to recite haiku's, practice his swordsmanship, and reflect on their current situation. Well-spoken, wise, intelligent, patient, and kind to all who deserve it. Likewsie will become spiteful, dangerous, and best avoided if you're in any way a criminal or evil-doer.

Basically the only reason they survived is because they're loners who don't work well with others, thus were at home being by themselves. Now they're forced to work together because they're all that's left. I seriously wish they had their own show. They've given enough hefty spoonfuls of their personalities to pave the way for a great many future adventures and interactions. Bumblebee and Optimus, despite not being new, somehow feel like more effort was put into making them people simply by being around the other three.

    Meanwhile, Team Prime consists of:

A robot who can't do anything himself unless the plot demands he do so. Was simultainiously chosen and predestined to become essentially robot Jesus. Not a very good one, though.

A dail-tone who supposedly hates his inability to talk, even though he can to pretty much everyone he'll ever need to talk to. So, not much going on. Might like video games.

A running-gag who's supposedly guilty over that for one episode and is smart but not smart enough to do anything monumentally helpful without a child's help. Will sometimes abandon unique identity in times of hardship to become a dry, monotonous reference-maker like his boss.

A total cool-guy dudebro let's do something fun like TV because he's so lovable but really just comes off as trying to hard. Also he was fatally and permanently injured for two episodes. Likes monster trucks and anything else that will make kids think he's cool.

And a freaking mess of a person who would be interesting if she wasn't so insultingly hypocritical and one-track without any sort of developement at all. Has two tragic backstories that sort of get mixed into one depending on how she's feeling, will lose her Goddamn shit and scream like a lunatic sometimes. Enjoys jumping into the air and spinning more times than a possessed carousel that hates children.

Tema Prime can be summed up as kind of a team with no interesting dynamic whatsoever. Proportedly a "family" they act more like disconnected coworkers who rarely speak outside of work. Friends who are only friends because of other friends that aren't here. I couldn't tell you what they truely like or dislike outside of what the show made them do as part of the plot. They somehow come across as less defined and memorable with three seasons and a movie's worth of screentime than the AOE Autobots who've mostly existed for one movie.

Age of Extinction had characters? When? All I saw were piles of trash that had as much depth to them as puddle of urine.

This isn't even a fair contest. It's like asking who would win a fight; Megatron or a disabled guy.

Team Prime, mainly for Ratchet though, if the Prime writers only got one thing right it would have to Ratchet's characterisation.
