As someone who's not familiar at all with Dr Who besides a few episodes my wife made me watch from the early seasons, I enjoy your take on the doctors, especially when they're bickering about the Tardis being a she vs an it. I can't say what either is really like, but the fact that they're behaving different is enough for me.

I hope Ravage would be smart enough to agree to help. Why is Soundwave down for the count anyway? I can't find where something may have happened to him.

 

Ooops. You're right. I meant to have a shot where Soundwave gets zapped by Khan, and forgot. Looking through my photos I didn't even shoot it...

Well, something for the director's cut I guess! For now, just assume that Khan is smart enough to trap Soundwave in AltMode. With the Valkyrie gone, Soundwave is the most dangerous person in that box, physically.

I'm afraid Civ ate all my time this week, and so no update at the moment.

Sorry for the quiet, folks. August is a gong-show. It has included:

-GenCon
-A LARP to play and mentor a newbie at.
-My dad got married
-Interview for a job I really really want
-Back-to-school stuff for in case I don't get the job.
-And a local mini-con on September Long that I'm running two games (a LARP and a minis game)

So... yeah, no brain. But there's only one scene left, I think, so I'm going to try very hard to get it done before school eats my brain again. Which means all y'all should be rooting for me to get the job, so I'll have free time to make you stories in.  

 

Get that job, man. We want this story to continue lol.

I apologize for a late response when you consider it's been a month since the last update, but I don't know what I was thinking, not reading this sooner! Transformers and Doctor Who in the same photo-comic??? That's my two main obsessions at once! The story's really good, with great concepts with imagination powering the toys and giving them life, and the Land of Lost Socks being the toy equivalent of hell.  

As for your portrayal of Matt Smith's Doctor, I do think you could improve his character by having him throw himself into conversations a little more, as the Eleventh Doctor is usually more eccentric and energetic than he is in his other incarnations. However, I do understand the need for every character to say their piece, so it's not an enormous problem, and as he's my favorite incarnation of the Doctor, I'm mostly just happy that he's been included.  

 

Well, as is probably obvious, school ate my brain. Also, I didn't get the job.

However, as a break from studying for midterms I've been finishing a few frames everyday, and so have finally finished this episode, and this three-parter to boot. Without further ado:

Sorry to hear you didn't get the job. Fantastic update, though. Kahn's and Kirk's banter was especially funny.   The banter between the cassettes was good as well, and I really feel the personalities for Rumble and Frenzy. I also find it kind of nice to see Frenzy show respect for the Doctors' nonviolent ideology, even when he'd prefer to beat Kahn's face in. With the TARDIS working again, and Kahn and his forces lost in the void, things certainly seem to be looking up for our heroes, and the writing, photography, and dialogue definitely built up the suspense and excitement nicely.

 

Also sorry the job didn't pan out, Elf. Glad to see you've been able to continue on with your comic work in the meantime though. I couldn't figure out which figure had broke, but seeing Ravage poke his head out of the box was really cute looking.

Khan and Kirk were a lot of fun to write. The first movie I remember seeing was STII, and at one point I could recite 90% of the dialogue. Frenzy is meant to be the "nice gangbanger." He'll still stab you for your wallet, but when he's not "working" he'll carry his neghbour's groceries home. Rumble just likes hurting things.

One clarification: the Void is an actual place in my story, and the Land of Lost Socks is very much not part of it. There is no Imagination in the Void, but those who believe in the Owner assumes he can see the Void. The Land of Lost Socks is not visible to the Owner, but has Imagination. Put differently, The Void Between Houses is part of the toys' "real world" and the Land of Lost Socks isn't. So Khan and ko. aren't trapped in the Void, they're Lost - which is worse. Unless, like Khan, you're an atheist. Aownerist?

I know, right! I loved that shot once I saw it big on my computer.

I was going to post the pdf today, but forgot to copy it to my thumbdrive. So that doesn't solve your problem either... I'm not much help in this one!

 

I'll admit I've only seen STII once, but what I do remember of it was highly enjoyable. I'd really like to check it out again, sometime. And I think that's a good personality for Frenzy, and does help to differentiate him from Rumble.
