First and foremost, I apologize for bringing back this zombie thread, but I need to say something.

Funny Transformers Adventures was a photocomic that I had made way back in early 2005 for the website Transformer World 2005. To be more specific, the site's forums. This was made back during the heyday of photocomics, when Buzzbeak's "Them Funny Robots" comic strips were all the rage, and everyone was just starting to get in on the whole photocomic scene. Shane Anderson had his own Funnies with RID Megatron Megabolt and his fondness for chips. Cobalt Agent had his Funnies with a G2 Laser Optimus Prime toy spouting political humor while being a political satire himself. And of course, Buzzbeak himself had Them Funny Robots with Incomplete Skywarp, a G1 toy that was incomplete in every sense of the word. Inspired by these three, I decided to throw my hat into the ring and make a name for myself (back when I was called Blurrwave before I wisely changed it to my first name, because...lack of imagination). Thus, Funny Transformers Adventures was born! So, what did the first comic of Funny Transformers Adventures look like?

    :puke:

Yeah, looking back, the comic in of itself...was terrible. I won't lie, my writing skills were horrendous back when I was in my mid-teens. Hell, looking over all the episode titles (since the only surviving image of FTA is the first comic), I was blatantly stealing ideas from other comics (for me, it was DONUTS instead of chips, remember that, Shane?), and hopping on bandwagons that other comics did. Oh sure, I did have a few good stories, but at the end of the day, it was just poor-quality pictures edited with Paint Shop Pro 8 and MS Paint to resemble a halfway-decent comic just to get a chuckle or two out of everyone that went to the Funnies forum. Hell, the camera I used to take the pictures used FLOPPY DISKS. I haven't updated the comic since 2008 for many reasons, all of them dealing with real life and a few personal problems at home. Eventually, I got bored and stopped Funny Transformers Adventures altogether.

Unfortunately, I don't own ANY of the original toys that I used for the comic, so I can't continue the comic right where I left off several years ago. It's made worse when you realize that, as I've said before, the only thing FTA-related that survived the test of time was the first I comic I ever made. None of the other comics that I have made for Funny Transformers Adventures are still there; they've all been deleted. I need the original comics that I made so I could have a basic idea of how to continue it. Now, one could argue that I could simply reboot FTA, buy back all the toys I remember using for the comic, and try and redo the series up until I stopped. I'm sorry to say, but that's simply not going to happen. I'm an adult now, and I have my own priorities and responsibilities to deal with on a daily basis. Funny Transformers Adventures is dead, and it will stay dead. Real life tends to do that, I'm afraid. From the bottom of my heart, I just want to say THANK YOU to everyone who had read Funny Transformers Adventures throughout its tenure here at TFW2005. It means a lot to someone like me, and collecting toys as well as interacting with you guys on this site has helped me get through some dark times in my personal life. You guys are the crazy, disfunctional second family I've never had. This is NOT a goodbye post, just something I've been wanting to say ever since I canceled this comic.

While this may be the end of Funny Transformers Adventures, it's not the end of my creativity. I've been flipflopping lately over whether I should make a new photocomic or just write a new, original story. A new photocomic means putting my writing skills to the test, as well as new continuity, so there's no need to continue where I left off nearly a decade ago. Some of you are already thinking I could simply re-adapt the stories that I made during the days of FTA, but it's not going to happen. As I said earlier, all I have left to the old stories are the titles; not much to go on. It's made worse when we realize just how terrible and sloppy my old comics were. If I plan on making a new comic, I want to do it right.

On the other hand, I've been rather strict on my finances in the past few years. Even if I do decide to make time for toy collecting, then the new photocomic might not even focus on any Transformers whatsoever. To me, toy collecting can be very painful on the wallet sometimes, and toys these days (especially ones made for adult collectors) cost WAY MORE than what they used to be back when I was younger. I may have to keep the cast of characters to a minimum of maybe five or six. My finances may also prove difficult for how I plan to shoot and edit the comic as well; the only camera that I have to use would be my iPhone, and editing would consist of MS Paint and Paint Shop Pro. I'm not familiar with Adobe Photoshop or any other advanced photo-editing software. I know that the resulting finished comic won't be as professional as others, but please understand where I'm coming from. I'm not rich; I have to use with what I am given.

If I do decide on making a photocomic, here's where some of you are going to hate me for what I'm about to say. The new photocomic may not be on TFW2005. As I said before, the likelihood of Transformers toys being in a new photocomic are slim to none. It may be on my blog for two reasons. ONE: My blog's been dead for a couple of years, and it's the closest thing I'll ever have to a personal site without having to pay for it. TWO: Since the photocomic would not have any Transformers, it would feel out of place to have a non-TF comic to be on TFW2005. I know that for some of you, Funny Transformers Adventures was one of the first photocomics in the Transformers Funnies. How could it not? I've been on here for over thirteen years; I'm practically the last of the old authors at this point. Sadly, I've been having little luck trying to stay in the Transformers fandom; the franchise just doesn't appeal to me like it did a decade ago. Times have changed, and unfortunately, my view on Transformers in general has turned bittersweet. But who knows, maybe if I do go through with making a new photocomic, I might include a Transformer toy down the road.

Which leads me to my only other option; writing a new original story. This may be the more likely choice for me to make, as it gives me more creative freedom without having to make a photocomic. Unfortunately, this also has its fair share of problems, since I'm not as creative as I used to be when I was a kid. Not to mention, when it comes to creating an entirely new story, it would take weeks if not months to come up with the lore for your story, but you know what? I'm willing to take whatever time I have to write up the basic lore whenever I'm not busy.

TL;DR Comic is dead, might make another one or do something else. But again, thank you all for supporting my comic over the years. I have Shane Anderson, Buzzbeak, and Cobalt Agent to thank for being inspirations for Funny Transformers Adventures. It may not have been the best comic out there, but for being one of the earliest comics in the Funnies, it had plenty of good people reading it. :)
