Thanks so much! Always good to know people enjoy it! It's crunch time for me right now, lots of papers and such, but hopefully if not earlier I'll have something up around Christmas!
Yep, First Edition Voyager OP. One of my favorite figures, though I need to replace his smokestacks, the rubber finally ripped on one of them. I got replacements on Shapeways, but I haven't painted and installed them yet. I was intending to upgrade myself to MP-10 but I went on a multi-year hiatus and abandoned that story when I rebooted this year.
Wow, sorry to hear about the figure's previous smokestacks. I painted up the Rising Gundam using a sharpie, it's not a permanent solution, but it does it's job.
Hey all, school's out, holidays are over, and I'm heading on a much needed vacation, so here's a special update! Siege Jetfire is an absolute unit. He took up most of my shooting space and it was hell on my wrist and arm to hold him up with four figures hanging off in a way that he would look airborne while also not looking like my hand was in the shot. And here's me thinking it was a pain to hold Prime RiD Starscream up with fishing wire back in the fourth issue of the original series...
I'm leaving for home in the morning, so have an update before I go! So I bought a Siege Barricade, but his left hip joint was beyond tight -- completely immobile. I thought it had started to move, though... but it was actually the plastic giving out. His leg snapped right at the joint. Unfortunately the store I got him at only had one, so I immediately got in touch with Hasbro, hoping they'll work out some sort of replacement. I've had good experiences with them in the past, so we'll see if that continues. But if that doesn't pan out, then I guess I'll have to get another and figure out something with this one. Who knows, maybe it'll come in handy in a comic!
Thanks! And yeah but as we all know some stuff slips through QC checks no matter how thorough they may or may not be. I've dealt with Hasbro for stuff before so I'm not suuuuper worried.
I just got Studio Series leader class Optimus Prime to replace my aging Generations FOC Prime, he looks great with my bots.
That stinks about your Barricade. Hopefully you get a solid replacement from Hasbro. For the comic, the one big thing I couldn't help but notice was how they asked Apeface and Thundercracker for a ride, implying they are capable of flight, and then when they have to 'roll out' they're both just hitching a ride themselves.
Nice! Prime grew up from little baby fist truck to giant semi! Well if they flew they'd get there before everyone else! Plus, how would they know where to go? Ok I guess they probably have GPS but how would they get into the house? They'd get cold waiting for me to get home, and it's a loooong drive.
I'm finally home! Ok, so I've actually been home since Friday but I didn't have a chance to shoot and post the new comic until now, so let's just pretend this all happened then. On another note, I heard back from Hasbro today, hopefully Barricade will be here soon! Whatever problems people may have with Hasbro's designs or what characters they choose to use, etc., I will never fault their customer service, they've always been nothing but helpful for me.
