Two things to keep on hand. 1) back ups 2) some way to format a disk drive and reinstall an OS. Unfortunaty step 2 isn't as easy as it used to be. Option 3) if you have the knoledge, you are much better off building a fully personalised system to your specifications. I have no commen on OS as Inhave reached the point of not liking eithter Windows or OSX so I only have one option but then several within it that I don't know what to go for. It was a situation similar to your current one Negs that put me off making Photocomics then I decided to return with that intro/preview thing but have done nothing since. Not that I'm concerned. Life throughs things at you and the bottom line is this: You get round to something when you getvround to it, no sooner, no later.
I feel you man, when i first started making comics a made a bunch for the future, then my computers hard drive failed.... I also had the entire script for two years on my Ipod...and i lost it....twice. So i feel you M91, i do.
Hey, good news everyone, I got my computer back early! It turns out they weren't as busy as they thought they'd be on Black Friday and the head technician they thought went on vacation didn't. So, he decided to spend the entire day and night fixing a bunch of the computers so they'd be ready for Cyber Monday, and mine just happened to be in the batch he fixed. Even better news: I didn't lose anything! It turns out my computer didn't crash and corrupt like they thought it had. Instead, what actually happened was my computer didn't alert me to an update it needed, so some of my internal registrations expired and the computer locked me out because it didn't recognize me as the owner. All they had to do was re-install my operating systems and everything's back to normal. Now, here's the awkward truth. Despite not losing anything, I fell head over heels in love with Rattrap Primal's idea of having the story continue AFTER The Revenge of Ultra Magnus with flashes back to it. So in love, in fact that I spawned a twelve-to-fifteen chapter story arc that could very well cover all of next years comics. So, despite not losing it, I am going to go forward with this idea because I absolutely love it. Besides, I think it will be more fun for you guys to try and figure out the mystery of what happened and what caused the new story, rather than me just telling you. So, you can thank Rattrap Primal for the next year of the comic. Now for some notes: 1. I will still be doing some Christmas comics, but there will be a delay because I didn't have my computer. The original plan was to do five, five-part storylines until the 25th, but I may shorten it to four, five-part stories so I have time to shoot everything. 2. There will be a couple of special updates over the month. One will be a special, family recipe for a Christmas Candy I make every year, and another two or three will be for a new figure I ordered on eBay that should be arriving sometime around the 9th or later. 3. I still have the remaining two updates for OotBIdol, so if you guys want to see them, let me know and I can do a double update either tomorrow or Monday. I guess, in conclusion, I am extremely grateful everything came out fine in the end and I'm going to get a new flash drive later tonight so this scare doesn't happen again.
Yay! I'm happy that nothing got erased. Also, I think a double update tomorrow would make up for your absence for the past couple days (in a joking tone). Also, for Flash drives, San Disk is the only way to go.
hey, if you ever want to sell the game boy pocket featured in the first Post, let me know..... Oh, uh, erm, Great comic, hope everything goes okay etc. etc.
That's fantastic news, to have your laptop fixed early and NOT have anything lost. Really happy it worked out the way it did.
Dude, great news. I look forward to being completely confused next year, only to randomly figure it all out a week or two before the big reveal!
Since that new Hunger Games movie came out a while ago, I guess we can say that the odds WERE forever in your favor.
Alright, as promised, here is a double update covering the last two parts of "We're Ripping off the Shaarkticomics Again, Aren't We?" or "Out of the Box Idol" for short. Update #1: Update #2: Notes: - Christmas Comics will begin on the 6th. - The trailer for that new, expanding storyline that will cover most of 2014 will be released around the 26th or 27th.
