I have to say that the dog fight between the Voltron Force and Blast Off was cool. I do agree with Hunk or whomever it was that they should've destroyed Blast Off because without him no Bruticus, but I think it was honorable of Keith to allow Blast Off to retreat because like Allura said, "Voltron doesn't kill if its unavoidable". So great work man.

Got a new round of pics taken, w/ beter lighting, which are usable quality. But it's going to take a while to 'shop in the backgrounds, so I don't know how long before I can get the next update up.

Hunk, Lance & Pidge all would've prefered Bruticus be stopped when they had the chance. Pidge would rather not take a sentient life, even an evil Decepticon, but he knows Bruticus is a massive threat.

    1. Keith pilots Black Lion
    2. Lance: Red
    3. Pidge: Green
    4. Princess Allura: Blue
    5. Hunk: Yellow
color of name = original uniform, color of color word = Lion

Good point. Man, I should've said Lions instead of Voltron Force, but nah I'm cool with it.

The Voltron Force pilot the Lions. For the purposes of the comic, until I can find all of my original figures (not really looking, but have suspisions on where some may be), they're one & the same: it doesn't matter if you refer to the Lions or pilots, as I only have the Lions for characters. Technically, however, it's the pilots who speak.

Cool. You know it'll be either be weird or epic to have the Lions talking just like their pilots, but that'll never happen until maybe they got stuck in some wacky universe.

I'm about 1/2 done w/ the next update (finished the first scene), but that's not why I'm typing...

Not too long ago, I figured out how I'm going to introduce the Prime Toys, once I get some (had been trying to figure out how that transition would work)... & I think it'll be hilarious! :lol  I've actually written this bit down, so I don't forget. ^_^

& no, I'm not explaining. :ev:

    You don't have to explain.

I'm not getting any Prime Toys, but I'm getting a ton of new toys, as well as all my old ones back into the new Basement (which is actually a 'family room'). So I gotta re-introduce Part 1 somehow, as well as some new characters.

So how do you like them Prime toys?

Sorry for the delay w/ this update, but I was sick some of this week, & haven't gotten the chance to start working on the 2nd 1/2 of the update yet. :(

I'll (assuming I have the money -- hopefully by March I will) probably get one of each on screen character. Mostly Deluxes, but the appropriate ones (Op, Megs Bulk, etc.) as Voyagers. The last time I've wanted a representation of the whole cast was Beast Wars!

I'm tempted to get both Cliffjumper (non-Zombie) molds, & do one up as a custom General Lee, which I'm sure is a popular idea.

Been awhile since I could fit in time to comment/reply. Since I can spend some time now, I'm doing so.

I find it odd that no one got who the deputy Chief was (deliberate alteration of capitalization). Although maybe the head you used confused people. A full head of red hair isn't his style, mostly bald with white tufts to the side is (I imagine that wasn't available, though). Maybe it was no thought from Rei that he does look monkey-faced (although that's only referenced in the original manga). Of course, it could just be that your readers are mostly TF & Voltron focused and the only characters from that franchise that they would recognize would be The Major & Batousai.

So, I'll make it explicit that I recognize your use of Deputy Chief Aramaki is a reference to Public Security Section 9 Chief Daisuke Aramaki from "Ghost in the Shell".

Seems fine. Last time I commented I noted how her personality normally is, but it can be very different in alternate realities. In one of the two alternate-reality-Evangelion mangas, her personality is virtually the opposite of how it normally is, with her being highly energetic and boisterous. I just hadn't gotten around to making a response to inform you of that until now.

I have to agree that the particular font used for her speech is difficult to read, though. Perhaps something where the handwriting style is a little more solid and less flowing?

Oh, and after you said cherished expression went with the box, I knew which box that's supposed to be (with her figure normally, anyway). It contains something that is broken, which seems fine for having it sub for a box for Ziggy, since Al seems to complain about Ziggy being broken most of the time.

Oh, and since Wheeljack managed to pick up a TARDIS core, there's one possibility for Rei interacting with someone other than Vector Prime (so the other character won't think he's lost some marbles and gears after all that time, since he would be talking to someone who isn't there from their perspective). If Wheeljack managed to come across a sonic screwdriver at the same time, that would do the trick (it has been used by The Doctor for similar situations before). Although Wheeljack experimenting with finding out how to do that may result in unforeseen complications. Maybe Vector Prime should handle the sonic screwdriver if that is how everyone decides to make her possible for her to interact (unless you want the unforeseen complications :ev:  ).

I would comment about the latest update with Voltron, but time's about up and everybody else covered just about everything I would've said.

I do have more of the Update done, but my having been sick messed w/ my head some, in addition to the usual, so the next Update still isn't finished yet. Almost, though.

I know people get busy, so I appreciate when people respond to questions I ask. When I get feedback, it helps me try to make improvements.

Yes, Chief Aramaki of Ghost in the Shell's Section 9 was the only name that popped into my head for the Chief of T.I.M.E. I felt he needed a name for that scene, considering how organizations like that tend to address officers, especially bosses, so why not do a reference? & yes, that head was the only disembodied, human head I had available. I have a body for it, but it's using an alternate head currently... I'll note this now, Aramaki will only appear in Updates as a back of a head in a chair. If I use that figure for the comic in the future, he'll be a seperate character.

I wasn't talking about Rei's personality, as I know it isn't Rei's. I've not seen EVA, so there's no way to do it right, so I didn't bother. I was litterally asking how her emotions were coming across. TFs I don't have to worry too much about their personalities & emotions, since I'm using, for the most part, their show selves, it's easy for you all to fill that in. Rei is different. She is more posable, isn't using her show characterization, & I can, & must, do more w/ her to get what she's feeling across. Doesn't help that I've never tried doing anything like this before.

When Rei appears again, I'll try Ludica Handwriting for her font, & see how you all like that. If it's a generally legible font, I'll go back & edit her earlier panels w/ it.

I got that it held something broke. The accessory actually looks like the box may be burnt or something. But, there are also details -- details that probably my camera phone can't capture -- that make it look like an electronic device. Since I have no use for Rei to carry around a keep sake, & Quantum Leap was one of my favorite live-action shows when I was a kid, it made more sense to use it for Ziggy for my comic.

& yes, Al is constantly complaining about the AI not working right. That will be touched on more in in future Updates. :ev:

I had already worked out how Rei will integrate into the cast as soon as I got her Figma. :ev:  Oh, & she will have a few things to say about that T.A.R.D.I.S. It being in a TF Shadow Alternity is not supposed to happen, & is thus considered a bad thing. & believe me, I've already hinted at unforeseen complications reguarding the T.A.R.D.I.S. (some of the "bad things"). :ev:

Well, I'm glad everyone enjoyed the Lion-fight. It wasn't easy to pull off, & I hadn't planned to go back to them. As I said, it takes a long time to cross a Galaxy, & I need to get my cast off Cybertron. The next update starts tying up loose ends, & gets the cast closer to being together again, as well as seeding plot threads for Chapters 3 & 4. :ev:  Considering I go update by update, I sure end up w/ a lot of advanced set up anyway, somehow.

Hopefully, I'll be able to get it up before next week. However, I've been off TFW for several days due to my head ache acting up, & I'm further behind on the threads I follow (a few grow by 10s of pages A DAY!)... I'm making an attempt to balance stuff more, but it isn't easy.

Again, I hope to get the next Update up before Monday, but no guarantees.

Note 1: Sorry for the delay, but I think you can see why these take so long... 'Shopping battles is a pain... & then I had to work out how to do an air vs. ground battle. Anyone expect Drift to use the Sweep's gun? That is the sole reason I had him slice off the Sweep's wing. :ev:

Note 2: In case you don't remember, the Powers Tarantulas is talking about are those Blackarachnia absorbed from Airrazor & Armada Optimus, back in Update 22.

Note 3: Rei was originally only going to get a panel or 2 at the end, but I hadn't reached my Target Panel Count yet, so it got expanded. Part of why it was expanded was the only effect is the Door. She is free standing in all shots, even though her tiny feet make it quite tricky to get her to stand w/o her stand.

Note 4: How did the TransWarp background & the effect of Rei's Door opening/ closing come out?

Note 5: I used Lucida Handwriting for Rei this time. If a concensus of you like it, I'll go back & change her font in the earlier panels to it. Also, one panel has a smaller font size (meant to represent her saying it quieter), so that panel having both sizes should be a guide to how good this font is.

Well, IMHO, the Transwarp background is pretty nice. Original (AFAIK), and conveys a sense of moving through a medium that's very different from others (no stretched out star-lines, no inverted space colors, no cloudy or swirly tunnels, etc.).

The effect for Rei's door opening and closing is also good. It very much resembles (from what I can remember of it), the effect from your inspiration source. Her new font is also very readable at both sizes.

Aside from the technical stuff, Dirge really isn't very bright, is he? I mean aside from being repeatedly tricked by Drift here, he's been a flier all his life and can't manage a controlled descent after losing one thruster? I'm a bit biased here since I know how to hop along on one leg at speeds as fast as a fast jog/slow run and understand the physics of how to compensate for having one off-center thrust generator, but he should have some life experience to draw upon to semi-instinctively compensate for his problem. As Grimlock would put it: "Just another dumb 'Con".

Thanks. I thought about the effect I wanted for a bit before committing to one (just needed one go, after all). In Beast Wars, they actually left real space, so I wanted to show that. I took initial inspiration (considered trying to duplicate a few, but decided against it & tried for something original) from one of the Doctor Who openings (one of the old ones, not sure which year...), & wound up w/ that. I tried to have all the lines converge near a vanishing point, which helps w/ the feeling of motion.

I couldn't remember if Al's doors opened up or down, but I kinda recall the light going top to bottom when they open, so I went w/ that. & I wanted the outline at the bottom to be visible, so I thought about light coming through the cracks before the door seals.

Well, it isn't that Dirge can't fly on one thruster. It's that he's facing a very ticked, & rushed, Drift who's properly armed now. Dirge's only advantage in that fight was projectiles & flight (he expected numbers too, but Drift took that from him), & he lost one & the other was hindered. Dirge's Tech Specs state he relies on a subharmonic frequency to put fear in his enemies, throwing them off... Drift doesn't succumb to that fear... Plus, Dirge's Courage in his Tech Specs is a 2; also his Intelligence is 7, so he's smart enough to know when he's outmatched, lost his advantage, & when to cut his loses. So, all in character for him, I believe.

    That's because your expendable Rei.

Anyways with a decent camera you're effects would work out greatly.

So my last remaining question. Is Dirge in robohell now?

Actually, that isn't the reason. I'll eventually have someone explain what's going on w/ T.I.M.E. It's been hinted at...

Well, the camera doesn't really do anything to the effects. & I think I have a work-around for Rei's facial expressions. My dad had his proper camera out to take pics of my nieces' costumes, so I had him take pics of Rei's 3 faces. If they come out (they should, though old, it's a decent camera) I can 'shop in the face I need.

Oh no. Dirge high-tailed it once he knew he couldn't win. As Omnus said, he can fly w/ one thruster... He just can't match Drift, a Metallikato Master & exsharpshooter now holding a gun, w/ only one thruster. Dirge was counting on numbers, projectiles & speed to win the fight; Drift turned all those into liabilities for Dirge fairly quickly.

Sorry for the delay. I took some time to replay The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time again (a friend just got the 3D update, & I wanted to refresh for questions on minor details I know are coming... I finished before he did, starting over a week after   -- he's still in the middle :banghead: ) While I played, I did think up how to approach this update. I won't reveal what I came up w/, though. :ev:  I do intend to try to better balance my time.

I finally have all the shots taken for the next update. I took them in the same room I did the Review (Chapter 1) in, so pic quality appears to be up a bit. Still can't get clear shots of Rei's face. :(  May try to finish Chapter 2 in there, but my condition may not let me.

Anyway, parts of this update are ambitious, so it may take a while longer to 'shop (still on Cybertron, plus additional effects). I'll be nice & explain a bit. I know some of you are anxiously waiting to see Grimlock's fight w/ Strika & her drones. Well, after trying to figure out how to do that, I'm finally going to be showing some of it!

Once you see everything, I think you'll appreciate the thought & time that went into this. I had tried several times this week to shoot stuff, but one reason or another (not Zelda in these instances) kept me from it. :(

You don't have to worry about a delay when The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword releases (11/20, iirc), but I may take a break when I can finally get it & a system to play it on. That isn't likely to be before the beginning of 2012, though. A relative may loan me their Wii, so after that if I can talk someone into buying me the $70 game (need to make sure I have Wii Motion+, which a bundle comes w/ -- & I want the soundtrack CD), I'll get it then; however, if noone will buy me the game & I'm not loaned the Wii, I won't be able to play it until I have money, & by then I'll just wait for the Wii U coming later in 2012.

When I have money for a Wii U, expect my cast to grow. ^_~
