Forgot to give Ectoneon credit for the High Quality, starting, mostly close up, images of Polyhex, & other shots of Primus/ Cybertron yet to be used. (might've used shots of Iacon he gave me too, but I'm not sure.) Added this to the notes after the update.

I had planned to do that as soon as I noticed I forgot to include the Wrecker in the shots were everyone met Vector Prime, & resolved to have him on Cybertron, precipitating Chapter 2. I just chose to start 6 levels below Iacon (Maccadems Old Oil House, specifically), so few surface shots... til now.

Upscaling the surface, while shrinking the bots was a chore, though. I'm just glad they were usable. Enlarging pics can distort/ pixelate them some; but GIMP has a resizing tool that attempts to limit distortions to an extent.

Nice as usual! Loved the "and his armada" bit. Lol I knew that one blackout figure in your sig was gonna be scourge. I like vector using his power to redirect everyone. Makes sense. And GASP! YOU MADE THE TRAILER!!!!!!:jawdropper:

Man-that thing is awesome, PURE WIN! -I never heard the Omake term before, but it was pretty nice little side story seeing how made that thing. You pretty much nailed the trailer, and Prime himself can even fit inside of it? I am thoroughly Impressed.
I think it's kind of sad he died-so much comedy potential lol
Haha I understood it right away. As that is pretty much how it is in my mind. My battle in space version is my cyclonus, while the original release is his "troops"
Ha ha, at first I didn't know, but then I realized that was scourge. I would say colorize him now that he has shown up. Scourge is an awesome toy, you should let people know he is in the comic.
This is pretty much how I do it. I have one for a sweep (His beard snapped off on one side) So I grabbed a second one when I saw it to be scourge. Ideally I would like three in total, but I haven't seen another one yet.

Gotta love cloning lol. At least the sweeps are like the vehicons though, and all have the same appearance.
I'm just glad you were able to use them in some way. Worked good for me as I was reading it- having everyone so tiny in the first panel made go all" Is that a new trailer for prime?" Then I had anticipation to see it up close.

Well, where there's Scourge, usually Cyclonus isn't far behind. It didn't feel right not to include at least someone who looked like Cyclonus.

Plus, it makes for a nice G1 Reference, which has been sadly lacking for some time (since I was focused on trying to get the story back on track & kept running into battles)... Backgrounds alone weren't enough.

I still don't know how you can identify a figure inadvertantly missing parts in silhouette, but not a figure fully intact.

Vector redirecting them came about when I realized I could get the story moving forward again by having the T.A.R.D.I.S. materialize near the Wreckers they're looking for. I only included the T.A.R.D.I.S. becuase I managed to build the Control Console from the parts remaining after building the Trailer. I figured Wheeljack could get into plenty of trouble w/ a T.A.R.D.I.S. :ev:

It was also a way to show Vector using his Powers w/ the Planet Key. ^_^

I had been playing w/ the idea of the Wreckers wrecking Fort Darkmount for a while now (why I specifically asked you for that shot), but couldn't work out a way to get some Autobots to the Surface to be near it...

As I said, down-sizing MP Op & Upscaling G2 is a lot of work, & there's sometimes either a mismatch or distortion (moslty regarding the trailer)... & since the Trailer is mostly black, it doesn't show entirely in dark shots, & there are other problems... So I just broke down & built Op the Trailer he deserves. Plus, it's a nice side effect to play w/ from 2 of Wheeljack's inventions not behaving as he expects. There is still more fall-out to be revealed regarding these particular "malfunctions" (remember, the T.A.R.D.I.S. only malfuncitoned by working w/o a power source & instructions) in the next update, & we still have the issue of an Extradimentional T.A.R.D.I.S. in Op's Trailer's Extradimentional Space... In D&D or Doctor Who, that's rarely a good thing... :ev:

As I said, it's Japanese. It litterally translates as "Extra" or "Bonus". Many Anime & Manga have extra stories, often AU; there are other kinds of Omake that exist that aren't stories, but I'm most familiar w/ it being bonus stories...

The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya has an interesting set of Omake: The Adventures of the ASoS Brigade (the A is for America; not sure if they're US made or not), where Bandai has a Live Action Haruhi running around promoting the Anime (Haruhi speaks perfect English, the first actresses for Yuki & Mikiru spoke Japanese). :lol  The 2nd set, the Return of the ASoS Brigade, they got a different actress for Haruhi (litterally, the first ep. was recruiting her), & the first thing she did was demand that the 2nd Season be released as a Box Set, not as individual DVDs... :lol

Optimus fitting was totally by accident. There was no measuring, I just did what looked right or I had the pieces for. The length was dictated by number of panels I had for 2 walls, & height by one of the arms that allow the sides to drop.

You gotta admit he went out gruesomely funny. :p  I have enough work to do w/ the Sweeps w/o 'shopping And His Armada too... Plus, the action will be moving to Planet Arus soon, now that I'm back on track, & there will be plenty of comedy potential once everyone is there.

Understanding that And His Armada was such an obscure reference, I was sure to spell it out clearly... Unfortunately, it wasn't enough. :banghead:  I only included him for the joke & to be able to kill someone off w/o affecting the main cast.

It may take a while. I checked the file I have saved, & I blacked out the characters directly, not on a new layer, so to colorize him, I'll have to redo him... Not sure if I still have that pic...

Wouldn't you need 4, since there were usually 3 Sweeps shown during speaking bits (when they didn't make animation mistakes during battles)? If you look at the panel before the T.A.R.D.I.S. begins materializing, you'll see 3 Sweeps flying, w/ Scourge & And His Armada standing, all SUPER TINY.

Yeah, but I'm not taking that cheap way out... I want my Scourge immediately distinguishable.

Well, his Grey Trailer is so Iconic, I had to build it Grey... That & I know I don't have enough black panels to make one big enough... I barely had enough Grey panels to build it... The roof has some cheats to it...

The trailer will only be around for as long as I don't have a proper one. Once I start drawing Disablilty or get the settlement for my injury, I'll probably order the new iGear Trailer & do something else to swap them. More potential for Wheeljack's inventions. ^_^

    This is true.
I know how that feels. Things just get away from you sometimes.

Well, scourge was given away mostly by his height, and the fact that I had been messing around with that figure a lot as of late. I really have no clue for the other. Since he looks around bludgeon's height, and most of what came out recently has been deluxes...

Yeah, seems like a lot of story potential there.

True. I was wondering when the cyberkey be used.
Well, you solved the issue in a satisfactory way.

Yeah, you have me really interested to see what happens with the Extrademensional space within another thing.
Well, it was a fun little side story to see. I'm still blown away by the trailer.

Even after all the pictures you posted, I'm still trying wrap my head around how big that thing must be in person.

    Yeah.

Well, I understood instantly. But then I have probably watched the 86 movie more times than any other movie or tv show ever.

Well, that sucks...but it isn't that big a deal if you can't redo it.

Well I wanted it to be symetrical. That way, scourge could be in the middle and have one sweep behind on each side of him. Of course, If I ever used him in my comic-there's nothing photoshop can't solve lol. But I doubt that will happen any time soon. I am at a point in the story right now where adding new characters would be detrimental to the plot flow.

Yeah, but I'm not taking that cheap way out... I want my Scourge immediately distinguishable.

Due to making stips/ panels for the upcoming TFWC-Con (a Virtual ComiCon for the Funnies), my next update may be delayed some. It is in the planning stages now, but to have my panels done in time, I'll need to start working on them now.

I intend to have a Metallikato Demonstartion by Drift & Jazz, & if I have time, might do a proper panel for TransFormers Adventures on Planet Arus, w/ a Q&A after if I get questions to answer... Again, depending on time, my characters could pop up in other things too.

If you have any questions for the Q&A you'd like the characters to answer, post them here & be sure to indicate they're to be answered at the Convention.

Comic makers who want to coordinate a crossover, let me know.

That's an understatement... I've had whole Chapters get away from me...

Oh, that one didn't come out recently. He just hasn't been seen yet. & how could you be sure the sizes were right?

Now I just have to come up w/ some...

Well, I failed to plan a point for him to use his powers. I made sure to make it clear in the notes that's how certain of his powers work, but made no specific plans. I figured here'd be a good place to show it.

    Glad you think so.

    :ev:

If I wasn't limited to 8 characters at the Con, I'd include Optimus... But other considerations made me omit him... ~.~'

It is BIG. 17"x7.5"x6", JUST measured it for you... (roughly 2 large Alternator vehicles long, a bit taller than an Alternator's Robot mode, both shown, & a Deluxe in robot mode wide, when closed) It's as long as my forearm (including my hand).

Well, anyone who remembers the movie is going to understand immediately... I had to make it clear for those less familiar w/ it...

Oh, I can redo him. I'd just have to redo Scourge from scratch. Pasting a new one behind Starscream isn't any problem. It's just taking the time to do it... But, the Con will render that moot. I'll probably whip up a new Sig for the Con, then just keep it there till I start Chapter 3 & make it's splash page.

That's what I'm doing, 'shopping one into many.

You failed to either respond to or delete these, or even quote them:

    • Yeah, but I'm not taking that cheap way out... I want my Scourge immediately distinguishable.

    • Well, his Grey Trailer is so Iconic, I had to build it Grey... That & I know I don't have enough black panels to make one big enough... I barely had enough Grey panels to build it... The roof has some cheats to it...

    • The trailer will only be around for as long as I don't have a proper one. Once I start drawing Disablilty or get the settlement for my injury, I'll probably order the new iGear Trailer & do something else to swap them. More potential for Wheeljack's inventions. ^_^

Due to scheduling conflicts & other circumstances, the Crossover Virtual Con has been delayed a day to June 17 - 20 (as my Sig now shows). More details when available.

TransFormers Adventures on Planet Arus will resume it usual chaotic schedule of Updates after the chaotic Crossover Con is finished & I can return to focusing on my comic.

Keep in mind, the Con IS considered, mostly, Canon for my comic (not all will take this approach). Once I get to a point in my comic where I can send those who attend to it, I'll show it... Links will be provided after that update back to the Con (links will also be avaliable when I post my bits -- I'll just add them to a single post, which like everything will be available in my first post as well as here)

I've updated the first post w/ links to my contributions to TFWC-Con 2011. Once I get to the point in my Alternity where Vector Prime takes my group to the Con's Alternity, I'll post the links HERE.

The links on Page 1 are marked for relevance.

Due to the rush to make my Con bits, I may take a few days off from working on the Comic to relax & let my head stop hurting... Hopefully, I'll have an update by the end of the week, but I guarantee one next week, unless my head injury prevents me from working on it.

The Origin is mind blowing. My guys know they are toys. It's toy story, just they can't get along and they have magical powerzzzz.

I'm probably going to be going on another TF Run to search for the character I didn't get that was my prioity, but will probably also grab a RtS G2 Prime while I'm out (I saw him for $7, but passed on him... :banghead: ), if I find him. Since I previously had no intention of getting him (Slag Pol for showing his new one off... & MakeToys for making their crazy trailer!), would you rather see him suplant Animated Hot Rod as leader of the Autobots or end up working for the Decepticons? I don't have a Classcis Op., but RtS G2 has a sword & it'd be nice to have someone else Drift's size for him to fight... (plus I already have MP Op, & his new trailer is staying for a while...)

*edit* My run did not yield RtS G2 Op. :cry  :banghead:  I do intend to keep looking though, as I'm curious how his shoulders transform now... So, you have until I find him to make suggestions as to which faction he should be with... I do have my own idea for it now, though. :ev:  How suggestions are phrased, may affect how I do things w/ him. :ev:

I did, however, get a new fig, just so the trip wasn't a total waste, but it was one that was actually on my "ignore" list, but could be fit into the comic... Slag it! That means I got a TF specifically for my comic. :banghead:   Something I promised myself wouldn't happen...*/edit*

Yeah, it's overexert, & I'll probably start shooting again over the weekend...

I've basically flushed out my amalgam Fanon & incorporated Voltron into it (as well as expaned it to include the Original 13). I didn't care for the Movies' Allspark suplanting Vector Sigma (so I combined them), but it does make for an easy way to animate toys... As you can see, I don't do anything half-aft.

Anyone who goes back to reread the comic, let me know if any panels go down. The site they're hosted on just changed their system, so I don't know if that will affect the URLs of the already existing pics at some point... I just checked a few random updates, & it doesn't appear to be an issue right now, just throwing it out there.

Well, tonight I resume work on Updates... I just need to work out which of the 6 Active Plot Threads I want to show part of next...

To help me, & to catch you up if you don't remember, I think I'll list the plot threads...

    Let's see:
    • Wheeljack & Op's group searching for the Wreckers
      • Rodimus
      • Cliffjumper
      • Sideburn
      • Smokescreen
        • & the Sweeps searching for the Wreckers as well
        • not going to hide Wheeljack's "chip flashes" I revealed at the Con...
          • guess I probably should start w/ this
        • I'm NOT going to list the Wreckers
          • :ev:
          • :p
    • Rattrap; Animated Jazz, Blurr, & Bumblebee; + Prowl running from Thrust & the Cycledrones...
      • & Thrust tracking them
        • there is a reason it's listed seperate :ev:
    • Battling on the Bridge:
      • Vector Prime
      • Rhinox
      • Hot Rod
      • Drift
      • the Animated Dinobots
      • the Animated Twins
        • against Jetstorm & his Aerodrones
    • Grimlock vs. Strika
    • Mirror's Investigation
      • Prowl's Investigation
    • the Predacons back on Earth
    • working in my new acquisition :ev:
      • Not included in this:
        • RtS Jazz
        • RtS Tracks
          • both acquired during the Con
            • which they leave for several updates from now

    • no need to worry about Shockwave & Soundwave this update...
    • The Decepticons now in communications range of Cybertron
    • Blast Off following Voltron back to Planet Arus
Listing the character also serves to help me keep track of who is where at this point...

    Update 20: Chases

Sorry for the long delay. The rush for the Con took alot out of me... Anyway, this one is a bit shorter than usual... After I got enough for 2/3 shot & most of that 'shopped, I watched TF Prime online, which triggered a spike in my headache from the Head Injury, which has lingered. Since I promised you an update no later than this week, & the next bit cuts to another scene, I decided to go on & post what I had (finishing up the last scene first), since it doesn't affect anything other than my non-existant pacing. Enjoy:

Note 1: Since noone gave any suggestions as to who they wanted to see, I just hit a bit of everyone (well, the AEG at least)...

Note 2: Another reason for the delay, & shortness, was again 'shopping in Cybertron for EVERY PANEL!

I am getting better at it, though, aren't I (now I can do intersections :D )? I even went on & did so for Vector Prime's group on the bridge, since that's what the bridge was supposed to look like all along (hence all the yellow bricks). ^_~

Note 3: Finally, I got to use Rattrap's explosives! ^_^ Took long enough... Though, I didn't have enough arm to use my usual effect for the forearm lifting...

Note 4: The next bit or 2 would've shown a bit more of what's going on, but posting it for the next update doesn't change anything.

Well, 18 panels out of the usual 25 is better than none...

Note 5: Yes, Animated/ G1 Swoop is more useful than the Animated Twins. :lol
    • In case you didn't catch on, Swoop took out FOUR Aerodrones on his own (well, 5 if you count the one trying to chase Drift), in succession. 2 can be seen flaming in the background, falling to their DOOM. :ev:
Note 6: One of the scenes I was wanting to do would've included my newest acquisition (NOT Jazz or Tracks), but it'll have to wait.

Note 7: Said Acquisition was bought SPECIFICALLY for the comic... :banghead:  I told myself I wouldn't get any figures JUST for the comic... :banghead: ... But it was get a figure or make a long drive searching for RtS G2 Op & another a total waste, as neither was in stock anywhere we checked... The figure I grabbed is easily worked into the plot (well, most are while everyone is still on Cybertron), which is why he was chosen.

Note 8: Also, the site the comic is on has "upgraded", forcing me to go back to mining the URLs via the Properties menu for each pic... Urg! :banghead:  Also, due to the upgrade, I ask anyone who notices missing panels to let me know... I haven't seen any yet, but just in case... Also, the site no longer is uploading the panels in sequence/ according to name, so it's making mining the URLs all the more difficult... :banghead:  What kind of "upgrade" did they do?

*edit* Just found a NEW feature that lets me rearrange pics after they've been uploaded. Hopefully, I remember it exists next Update...

Yes, you're definitely getting better photoshopping the scenes on Cybertron, especially Optimus Prime and crew in the second and third panels.

Actually, I've always been able to put characters on Cybertron. It's just a matter of getting the camera angle right, cutting them out (or erasing the background, depnding on a number of factors) & shrinking them (GIMP allows me to link layers, so I just need to shrink one, & the linked ones will too, making it an issue of making sure each layer is scaled to another first -- & in this case, everyone was taken from the same pic, but cut out for seperate layers for ease)... The issue is scaling them right... & that requires consistant landmarks, like a road, to get to look right/ be consistant.

I was refering to making the walls & ground from scratch. I can now do corners, even in the background. Getting Jazz to aim around that corner was a bit tricky... Wound up using Op's new trailer as a stand in for the walls, which worked out quite nice.

Sorry there's no update this week. My head injury has been acting up & preventing me from even taking pics. I intend to start shooting soon, though... Assuming it doesn't start acting up again...

On another note, I'm considering trying my own GIMP Tutorial on how to use the Subfunctions (like the 4 Selection Tool options: Normal Select, Multi-select, Subtract from Selection & Intersect Selection) & access the Menus, steps that seem to be skipped or glazed over in other, more Targeted Tutorials. What do you think? More a less a Tutorial to transition from Beginners to more Advanced Users.

Animated Swoop. Unfortunately, the only Dinobot I have that isn't Animated is Classics Grimlock, & next update I hope to distinguish the 2. Still need to start shooting for it, but might start tonight.
